Ridiculous rule.

You're right, I was a couple of hours late submitting our list thus the stiffer penalty. One point seems appropriate in this instance, StFly is a good bloke, difficult to understand mind you, but still a good bloke and peterss has been an excellent leader for a long time.
On the contrary, both the Roys and Gumbies submitted squads on time, albeit incomplete. In fact, the Gumbies should arguably be punished heavier given they actually played a game with an incorrect squad.

At the time of the Roys' indiscretion, the rules stated that you must be given a 2pt penalty. After the re-branding of rules before the start of last season, there is actually now no punishment for an incorrect squad submission at the deadline. The 1pt penalty given to the Gumbies seems more than fair under the current rules (relating to playing games with an incorrect squad) albeit with the anomaly in place.

And Uncle Leo, I'm the only one who advocates for penalties. You have no hope of being as cool hated as me.

Right then. To be honest I couldn't remember and couldn't be ****** going back to find out what I had done wrong. I do remember we copped our penalty and deemed it fair.

How did the conversation turn to how Uncle_Leo has usurped me in floggetry?

pants pulled the same trick. Was cool, won the eka, went flog, didn't look back.

Anyway... back onto the topic.

StFly and peterss should be able to cop a suspension to avoid the penalty just like beez did. That's consistency and precedent.

That no one noticed until 4 days ago (Monday the 21st), 10 days after squads officially had to be in (Friday the 11th) in a game started Monday the 14th with a side submitted by Burger (not a captain or leadership at the club) via a clause in the rules that states that in the event that pete and I (actual captains) do not name a team, any player can name a team and it will be used, which the simmer (Logger) also did not pick up on and subsequently used, whilst I was verbally jousting with the thread creator (PVF) for his timeframes, and the two of them (PVF & Logger) exclaiming how they had no idea about who was running the preseason to be definitive on anything.

Yup, totally our bad for playing that game.

FTR, I didn't name a team and chose to argue because my intention was to forfeit, unfortunately the rules don't let that happen.

Yup, penalise myself and pete because the individuals involved took 2 weeks to notice, still had to have a think about it, and the responsibility for that match happening is solely ours.

beez thumbed his nose and tried to prove a point, we simply refused to sign inactives who had not committed like every other club has done to meet a quota by a set date. Vastly different intent.

It's such an easy thing to sign inactives who had previously played for you, -1 or -2 I could care less if we remove them from our list and bring in people that actually want to be here.

You had the right intentions but it would have been smarter to keep those inactive players on your initial squad submission and then delist them once you signed new players. Keeping them on there for a short period would have helped you avoid a penalty and then you could delist your inactives one by one with each new signing you secured.

Don't have a cow StFly.

If I was admin I'd let you off. Possibly ponies too, we'll have to wait and see.
Considering you were a vocal captain with your misgivings, I had figured you may have gotten it somewhat, but you're still rather clueless.

This is not about the penalty, it never has been and never will be. This is about this forum and the people that inhabit it.

The reason we have this accelerated time table with this season is not because we all agreed or that there were valid reasons behind it, the reason we have it is because all of you, all of us, were painted as junkies.

We are unable to go without this forum.
This forum would die if we had extended time off.
The majority of us would not come back.
We need the new season now, to feed your addiction and need to be here.

And you can honestly say you're not the tiniest bit insulted at being likened to a junkie?
