I don't care if I do get a ban.

You're a ****ing moronic w***er. ****

Lance, honestly name a game where he has had a stand-out game! Has he ever kicked more than 2-3 goals a game? Even Lachie Hansen has a bag of 5 or 6 goals.

He has shown nothing of being a stand-out player. Crameri has gone past him, by a long way. Crameri has shown more in 7-8 games than what Gumbleton has shown in his time at Essendon. There is no room in the side for him. Clogging up the list IMO.

Ricky

At this point you spot on the money - Hasn't even dominated a game for Bendigo.

Think that injuries and missing footy has affected his development - Hansen is far from a dominant player - And the 2006 draft ( which was supposed to be a near super draft ) is shaky at the moment.

The guys who will keep supporting gumbleton are the ones who believe in HYPE, nothing more and nothing less.

The guy has shown very little for the years we have ploughed in, through injury or whatever. Kosi is the closest likeness I have ever found and I have been using that for around 4 years.. you can't spend the first 5 years of your career injured and then expect to ever be the top of your class again. Probably a shame but we'll never know because as many smart posters have mentioned.. he has never ever dominated a game, not even VFL.

Crameri has shown far more and in less games.. at least that is giving EFC the choice to stick Gumby on ice.. or very very drawn out recovery.. as he would hardly be rushed back in even if fit. Would be risking going too tall as we are already borderline. Should have traded this bloke for Judd like I suggested.. or at least put it out there.. in fact should have traded him for anything when he still had an ounce of trade value. Sitting on a lame duck stock and we did nothing.

I 'support' Gumbleton in that I don't bag him for being unable to overcome chronic injury. You can be sure it isn't something he chooses.

It's one thing to say that he hasn't performed, but quite another to slag him for it. I'm not having a go at you specifically here; more some of the previous posters.

We should have more respect for our players, even most of those who aren't doing so well.

Geez, some pretty short sighted views on Gumby in here.

Firstly, he's been injured for far more time than the's been playing in his first 4 1/3 years.

Secondly regarding his lack of dominance in games, he's been playing a Nick Riewold roll in a side that was largely ordinary and unpredicatable for most of the games he has played - Note, how has Riewoldts form been since the saints have been shit?

Should have traded him..... When??? When he was injured the entire way through '08 and '09? Would have had ripping currency then. At the end of last year when he showed signs that he was getting things together? That's also fine provided there was an adequate trade for us.

Will he get there? Who knows. The back is a tough one and can be very unpredictable.

LOL.

"Hi John. Righto, best player in the game, so we're not going to **** around here: we've got a CHF who managed 3 games at the end of his first year and has been injured since. Do we have a deal???"

Yeah, nah.
Never mind that Judd had chosen Carlton, either.

Exactly - no interest in a bloke morally bankrupt enough to have the choice of any club in the comp, and go to Carlton via the slime ball crim Dick Pratt and his "ambassadorail" position.

Especially in hindsight, i'm VERY VERY happy we didn't end up sacrificing any of our young guys/picks for a mercinary/battering ram that will struggle to be on the park 3 years from now....

....yes he is awesom now, no he will not be for much of what will end up being our premiership window.

Paul Hamilton has said on the efc website that he got treatment. A dye was placed in his leg, presumably part of an MRI to find out the exact cause, and hopefully make sure it doesn't happen again. He didn't say when he's due to play again, so I assume he's still a fair way off.

I read he played about 3 games in his junior career. but kicked 12 goals in each of them just before getting injured late in the game.

Nah just kidding obviously.

You wouldnt think he would be that injury riddled coming through given he was taken at pick 2. Selwood apparently had shot knees and thus slipped to 7. Cant believe we fell for that one. At least the club got one back with the fake op rumours about heppell haha.;)

Saw on BB that Thommo said that Gumby is 2-3 weeks away from playing any sort of football. That's potentially 7 weeks for a hammy! Best case scenario is he puts major selection pressure on Ryder and co for the second half of the year.

'Morally bankrupt/mercenary’. Give me a break. No fan of judd or carlton but i’m sick of warriors coming out slagging people who haven’t done shit to them.

I just fear that he will finally come good in the latter parts of the year and we will be lapping up his talent on the field. Then, over the off season he will injur himself again, sending us back to square one.

So frustrating.
