Good pick, speculative but certainly a big plus if he can stay fit.
speculative?

I guess... maybe you could have got a gun at 55...

Anyway, good get for you guys in my opinion. Very sad for Essendon supporters but you can't wish him anything other than the best. I hope he wins a flag with you guys. There, I said it.

Good luck Gumby, I'll never forget that goal you kicked at the gabba

Has FFC considered Gumbleton's "ASADA risk profile" before drafting him?

The question must be asked.

The AFL has let EFC off with a very light slap on the rist, but my understanding was that the sports doping authoritY has reserved its right to issue infraction notices direct to EFC players.

Surely any club signing an EFC player would need to do some DD on this point.

Could these risk factors explain EFC's capitulation at the trade table?

When he's fit, he's one hell of a contested mark. Would have liked to have grabbed Pods as well as a back-up while Tabener finds his feet, still you can't have everything. Welcome aboard Gumby!

They arent going to suspend anybody, they can't prove that anybody at Essendon took any banned substances. All the AFL knew is that Hirdy and the boys were being gung ho with their injections program but if they had of had any evidence of doping Hird would of copped a lifetime ban to save the image of the game and ASADA would have moved by now. Hird and the club fought it so hard because they knew that nobody could prove that there was any doping happening. ASADA will be hoping more evidence comes to light and that's why they won't say that they won't charge a player.

Anyway re. Gumbleton, all I can think is that Zac Clarke has a much nicer highlight reel and will probably not be on our list after next year if Pav and Sandi play on and maybe even if they don't. I really don't see Gumby as being better than Kep or Clarke, I hope I'm completely wrong though.

Very happy with Gumby comming aboard. Pick 55 is fair and Freo have pick 58 which is worth practica;;y the same. Hope Freo snap up three young guns in the draft and it will be the start of a successful off season.
