As good as Le Bron James but turned his back on basketball because he just loved his footy, his mum and his mates and Aussie rules is a "the best game in the world".
It’s rarely a gun player, generally just a depth player & preferably someone who c hasn’t cracked the midfield yet so the fans can get up & about that C grade half back is about to become a Brownlow winning mid.
I’ve also seen that players who have had interrupted pre seasons like Sam Flanders get given “training the house down” notes/write ups. Bizarre.

Generally you're right. I have seen it situations like when Richmond dynasty looked like it was over and there were reports of Dustin Martin 'training the house down' and in 'the best nick of his life', circa 2021.
