A reverse of spud watch. My gun 11 would be

Reina
Ferriera Samba Kompany A.Cole
A.Young Parker Essien Malouda
Drogba Berbatov

I/C: Jilkes, Huth, J.Olsson, Scholes, Bale, Kalou, D.Bent

Chris Samba gets my vote for player of the year. Been sublime in defense and in attack for Blackburn. We all wish for a team of Sambas I think. Hard to pick another CB partner for him. He doesnt really need one in all honesty but went with Kompany. Not enough respect for him. Rest of the team picks itself. Biasedly put Parker in ahead of Scholes though ;)

I'd have Parker in my best xi as well, he bascially controls every attack for West Ham.

Think Malouda and Drogba would have something to say about Samba being the best player so far, although he has been immence.

Mines:

Reina
Richards Samba Terry Cole
Nani Parker Scholes Malouda
Drogba Berbatov

Cech, Alcaraz, Essien, Bale, Henderson/Garner, Carrol, Dembele

Berbatov. ****ing Ber...

Yeah ok he's been in some surprising form and deserves a mention. And I was going to add that Scholes seems to have picked up his game as well... but u have him on the bench. Fair enough.

Barton is a bit stiff not to make the bench.

Has been our best player this season by quite some distance.

I'll throw in Enrique from our lot too.

Why surprising? Throughout his career he's always started slowly with new clubs.

Don't think it's biased to put Parker ahead of Scholes mate.

Funnily enough I was thinking of my team of the season so far the other day (after the last round) and my team was nearly identical, except,

I couldn't decide who to put in goals.
Can't remember who I had on the right of midfield. Might have been Young as well. Ahh no it was Nani. He has been excellent so far. Definitely deserves the right wing position without any debate.

So no players different.

And I think that team is very accurate. no doubt I'll read through this thread and find some who disagree....

No Essien and Micah Richards?

Bzzzz. Wrong answers.

From a team of the season perspective Bale is unfortunate because Malouda has simply been better and Bale doesn't play as a defender (nor would he be better than Ashley Cole in the position). He'll be a very, very good winger and his attacking qualities would be somewhat stifled/wasted in defence.

As for the gun watch - I don't know about putting Sandro there but Bale and VDV certainly warrant it to this point.
