Here

are you serious?

1.theres nothing wrong with guns... unless the people handling them are morons....
2.there nothing wrong with shooting animals as long as you do it with some consideration for the animal i.e head shot kill or shoulder/heart kill... not stomach or wound kills....
3.nothing wrong with joffa posing with his guns.. its his perogative.. obviously loves his guns
but, there is something wrong with the herald sun trying to make a collingwood person look bad while paying compliment to a hawthorn boy shooting at animals.... goes to show any negative collingwood story will sell more papers for the hun than a positive collingwood story....

He handled a weapon in a residential area. If you asked someone who mitch thorpe was they wouldn't be able to give you an answer as quickly as if you asked them about joffa. So Micheal Diamond should be condemed should he. No because he has been trained to handle them safely and doesn't advertise handling of weapons. Look who he posed like, Chopper Read is hardly a role model himself
Yeah bet u saw and loved the movie though didnt you?

Ahh i was waiting for the one wowser tring to justify this! Look mate i got no issue if you want to kill and mame animals do so its your concious! what i got issue with is the massive double standards here, license has nothing to do with it pal as Joffa never used the guns so that argument is futile, It is about the herald sun and anti gun lobby slamming him about being in possesion of guns like hes some homocidal maniac then glorifying a young player for shooting a duck.
By the way pal does it feel good shooting defenceless creatures? hope you enjoy it must make you feel real good i guess.
Why didn't Thorp just go to the local supermarket in the background and pick up a rotiss chicken instead of hunting for his food? :thumbsu:

Get a sense of reality. They are movies not documentaries. Chopper is not a good guy the movie could be the greatest ever made but you can't look past the fact that what he did was wrong. I'm not saying what joffa did was wrong and he should be charged or anything. What he did was stupid and lacked thinking. Also to someone who said he loves his guns, they weren't his.

who did the guns belong to???

is still cant see what joffa did that was so bad as to warrant so much media attention.. for heavens sake he was not pointing the guns towards anyone and im pretty sure the bolt was in a safe position and the guns posed no immediate threat to anyone in the vicinity...

i think this world is suffering from an overload of political correctness - this isnt directed specifically at any posters, but people have opinions on the most trivial and insignificant matters these days...

JOFFA HAS GUNS.. i mean woow herald sun....
has anyone seen a article stating " 70% of NEW YORKERS THINK BUSH RESPONSIBLE FOR 911"

and finally i think its worse to be showing thorp in the act of shooting at ducks... one thing to display guns and another to display them in use

He was at a mates place who brought them out to show them off. He then told his mate to take a photo with him holding the guns then posted it himself on the internet.

The number one point drilled into myself and other people i know who have guns is to never play around with them in any way. I doesn't matter if they are loaded or not or even if the safety is on or not.

The issue i have with it is that he had this photo taken of himself and on his own accord he put them up on the internet. For a club that has received such bad press, not just from the sun but from every angle possible to has such a prominent figure put this photo up himself was stupid.

Gonna have to shoot a lot of people as well if that's the criteria
sorry edited for accuracy.. no need to shoot specific races when most of the world eats rice...

im stating facts.. ducks get killed by/for duck famers on a much larger scale than recreational shooting... famers lose much money because of ducks.. see if the animal loving vegetarians continue to eat rice knowing this??? rice causes ducks to die too...

I loved it too Spartan, but thats my point im not anti guns or nothin but Champ decided to bring him up as a point in case, futile at its best! PS, Jimmy loughnan deseved one between the eyes lol.

how good is eric banas portrayal of uncle chop chop.... gees that films makes me laugh..:thumbsu:

ok... that , if true, is stupid....

as for the safety aspect i treat my guns in the right manner too... actions out shotties broken up... bullets in own storage etc.. but posing for a photo with them is no problem in my eyes-but posting them on the net while not wrong is dumb-just asking for trouble...the actual photo isnt the problem , as mentioned earlier, the problem here is that joffa gets chastised while thorp gets admiration?? double standards shouldnt occur in jounalism/media yet sadly it does... papers need to be sold..

Yeah but the joke doesn't work your way so stop editing my material

"loves his guns" I disagree with this. I might be wrong and I don't know that much about Joffa's personal life, but the way he was posing it looks like he isn't around guns much. If he was holding the gun as casual as anything that would point to a familiarity with guns. It looks like someone he knows has guns for hunting or something and showed them to him and he's just posed with the guns. That's just my interpretation, and I don't know why I'm even analysing this story.

There is nothing wrong with The Herald Sun running the Thorpe story like they did. It's just very hypocritical of them to string a huge story out of a Z-list celebrity at best like they did with Joffa yet turn a blind eye to it when it suits them. Piss poor journalism.

Tess posted a picture of Nick Davis eating KFC in another thread with Sydney jumper and all on. If I was a Herald Sun journalist all I need to do to get a story printed is to ring up the anti-child-obesity lobbyist and print some out of context quotes. Nick Davis is a much bigger news story than Joffa, so that would probably get a full page in it.

I mean what did you guys expect to get out of a gun control lobbyist, they're always going to push their own agenda and any free publicity is good, they don't give a crap about Joffa.

Your a d!ckhead mate. It is one of the oldest traditions in the world, far older than footy and for some it is a way of life. How old are you? 15? Grow up and get a sense of the real world
