Did anybody manage to see the biography on them on VH1 last night? It's really shocking how bad the guys got from all their drug and alcohol addictions. Seeing Izzy Stradlin struggling to even talk was horrible and the way he said he tried every way possible to kill himself. One of the greatest bands ever and my favourite may never of even been a band hopefully one day they can reunite for a farewell world tour and come down here. According to Slash all that really needs to happen is for Axl to apologize for bein such a c*nt over the last few years and the band can reform

Yeah I saw it a while ago, I dont think they will reform any time soon. Theres way to much bad blood, especially over Axl owning the rights to the G&R name.
The concert at Calder park was great(93?), it was really hot and everyone went nuts.

The success of the greatest hits CD shows how big they were

Hopefully Axl will finally release Chinese democracy ( I read somewhere November 29 this year is the latest release date for it) It will be really interesting to hear it.

NOvember 29 for the last 10 years.

Do a quick search on Bigfooty and there is a thread with a really good story about chinese democracy and its start stop production that has palugued it due to Axl being a petulant little ********.

Here you go: http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=157247&highlight=chinese+democracy

I think theres about as much chance of Chinese Democracy being a good album as there is of the band reforming.

Will be very interesting though.

For anyone still interested in Axl's career (all two of you) another new song was leaked this year. It's called 'IRS' and is the real deal (confirmed by GnR management). It's not too bad - the lyrics are really dumb, but there is a ripping Buckethead solo.

You listen to songs like I.R.S, Madagascar, The Blues, Chinese Dem, Oh My God, etc and you have to wonder why the crazy ******** doesn't just release the album. They're all pretty good – nothing groundbreaking, but better than most crap being released today.

Agh, I've really got to move on. ;)

Their best concert was at the old Entertainment Centre here in Melbourne, no-one knew them , brilliant night, gave Calder park a big miss, bandwagon too big.

That has been the story for the last 12 years ... of course he would love to put it back together , have you heard Velvet Revolver ? Plus none of them make any real money out of it now other than Rose . Can you imagine the cash cow it would be if they did get back together ?

Axl has lost it .. period

As some one has said on this thread , we do have to move on . Don`t get me wrong , worship em` , love nothing more than to see them back together . Would love to hear Chinese Democracy... but i don`t see it happening , as i said Axl Rose is a serious nut job .

I really enjoyed that doco on Sunday night.

If it is on again I'll certainly tape it, I was also not aware that the drug problems were as bad as they were.

Didn't Slash hire himself a bodyguard for the sole purpose of carrying him home after big nights out?

And Duff's pancreas actually exploded because of all the drug and alcohol abuse, causing third-degree internal burns.

Haha, remember when rock stars were cool?

Yet he still drinks & smokes heavily today. Amazingly he doesn't look to have aged a day and always speaks very intelligently when interviewed.

Axel is a smakhead.

Best album was Appetite.

Shouldn't have dropped Adler.

They were best when they were hungry.

You can smell that album if u play it loud enough.

I think the word is "Honesty"

Matt Sorum is originally from the Hollywood AOR set, having played with Jeff Paris (who also wrote for Vixen and Mr Big), so for him to get the G&R gig shocked the hell outta me.

I hate his drumming.

If u listen to Velvet Revolver he sounds like an old man trying to play new music.Another thing, he plays with his pocket not his heart.

A typical "I'm a professional drummer" kind of LA guy.

I think you will find he got the gig from his "Cult" Sonic Temple Days
