Well you don't have to be a guru but we are looking for people with industry specific skills.

Looking in all areas but here is a general idea:
  • Trades
  • Retail/customer service
  • Post grad employment
  • Banking & finance
  • Teaching
  • government
  • Health
  • Construction
Really any specific skill area you think you have the skills & experience to provide advice.

You could start a thread like:

'Ask a mechanic anything' or 'Teaching advice - Career advice for teachers'

Something like that, just put you hand up in this thread & then start the thread pertaining to your industry of expertise.

Being an employment board the questions you would answer will be work/employment related, not how to fix your car & such.

Also if there are two or three or more with the same skills that are willing to cintribute to a thread I'll just add their names to the OP of the thread.

I'm happy to help out if I can.

Have worked in a range of industries - telco, finance, insurance & hospitality. I've mainly worked in Business Intelligence / Analytical / Pricing / Marketing positions. Highest level of education is MBA.

I've done a fair bit of recruiting from juniors for hospitality to more middle mgmt white collar so can assist with what I look for in candidates.

Great mate, chuck a post in the thread throwing you hat into the ring & anyone can then pose questions to you in the thread.

What area did you work in?

Worked in FAO (family assistance office) with a Call centre background.
Now working face to face... Still mainly FAO but dealing with pretty much all other payments as well, Newstart, Youth, DSP etc

Happy to answer Casino questions... in particular Croupier advice..

Feel free to start a thread 'working in the gaming industry' thread if you feel confident in responding to questions.

Might even be worth a 'working at crown' thread or something like that if we need to be specific seeing they are such a large employer.

Did you want a front of house hospitality thread? I notice there is a chef/BOH thread but if you wanted to someone to start a thread regarding bartending, waiting tables, front of house management, nightclub work etc. i've got nearly 8 years experience in various sectors of the hospitality and would be happy to answer any questions.

Great, yours to run with mate.

Just state in the OP what info you think is relevant to the thread & stipulate it is for FOH hospitality & so on in the OP & title.

Cheers.

Whatever you can add mate. Might be worth you going through some of the threads as with your exp you might have something to offer in a number of areas.

I've worked with state government departments, and am currently employed with a mining company. I've got about 5 years' experience in Human Resources, and am almost done with a Masters in HR Management. So, happy to give advice about things like CV writing, interviews, cover letters and what works for them and also on-the-job issues like performance management, company culture, remuneration, change management, training programs. Not sure how relevant the on-the-job things will be, but happy to give HR advice if people out there need it.

Happy to help if needed, otherwise perfectly happy to lurk.

I think if you started a thread on HR questions that would be good. In fact I have a couple of questions myself.
