I think the swans are the last team you'd want Willsmore to debut against. Particularly at the scg. Our next three games read: richmond, carlton and the dees. He'll get a run against one of those sides and will have enough time & space to make an impactI am surprised he is playing this week, I would've preferred Dallas Willsmore who is a similar size and better by foot.

I think like everyone else he needs continuity. When you are competing against the defenders that we have its almost impossible to break into the team. Young guys have been getting games on merit but more importantly exposure to senior football. Gus has been the 7th defender for a while, I think because he is a known quantity & his development was required at box hill because he simple could not force out birch, Strats, burgers, Gibson ect...His hit on Buddy taking him out of a contest that was going to be an easy Swans goal was brilliant. He spoiled another easy Swans goal too.
Tackled like a demon. Ran hard.
One of the best 3 possession games ever.
That's the problem there, they rotate.liked his game last night did a lot off the ball which you don't get stats forI always find it hard to assess our defenders on who they played as they rotate so bloody often !!!!!!
Yep very differentI dare say that if Howe was asked to play on the same guys that Gus was the result would have been different
He does have a brain fade now & then but did you see Lewis eyeball Birch for doing a stupid handball back to him when he should have kicked it, or when doc got caught again holding the ball, BB hitting it to the opposition a lot.He had an average game.
He did some great things (diving across Buddy like good old fashioned centre half to prevent a goal) but boy he can do some stupid shit as well (his little Grundy 2014 1m spoil into the corridor and walking across the line for a deliberate).
I don't think he has a footy brain at all. But he plays on instinct and heart and that can sometimes be good enough. Not sure where I sit on him.
But I feel his time might be coming up. I like him but can't see a future for him.
If he can cut the stupid shit out of his game then all might be well.
Not sure if he was brilliant but he did do some very nice things during the game. Wasn't our worst & played his role. Probably needs more senior experience to feel as though he belongs. Plenty to work with. Good luck Gus & make it happen. What the hell?
Litherland was brilliant. So many tackles and spoils. Saved a couple of goals.
It doesnt matter that he didnt have a lot of possessions.
I wonder if we make any changes...

You need to watch the replay.Hasn't got the footy IQ for this level
You need to watch the replay.
You must be talking about the 50m penalties & free kick count...Id rather not, there was some head scratchers.
