The reason we ran Robertson into form is they played Jarad Rooke on him, and in a brilliant tactical decision left him there all day - just to make he won the game for them. Funny how in the last 10 minutes they finally put Scarlett on him (after he destoyed Neitz again) and he didn't get any more. Amazing.
And I agree, this loss wasn't what cost us a serious finals tilt, it was the Fremantle game. And Collingwood. And Brisbane. And Footscray. And Essendon. Et cetera.
Pathetic.
If you are such a great football mind, how come you are not on the coaching panel? Or, it seems by the way you speak, you could have done a better job on Robertson yourself. Maybe you should call the club so we can get you on the rookie list next year. Your such a hero. You could have easily held Robbo to less than 3 goals.
I think the coaching panel and players would be far more aware of the situation at hand than an arm chair supoorter like yourself. I am also an armchair supporter but i dont go around acting like i know what is better for the club than than the people directly involved.
If you recall an interview with Russel Robertson early in the year, he listed Rooke as one of his toughest oppenents. Clearly Rooke has had the better of Robertson for the past few years, hence the reason he was playing on Robertson, but you would know this being such a wonderful football brain.
Rooke has been wonderful for the club this year. I did not hear you complaining about his performances when he kept the best forward in the competition this year relatively quiet in Matthew Pavlich.
I am in no way proud of the way Geelong played as a football club on Saturday afternoon, but pointing the blame in the direction of Rooke is a joke. He has played all but 1 game and has been one of our most consistent performers all year. There are many other players that have not shown the pride in the jumper that Rooke shows, atleast with Rooke you know that he will give 110% every minute or every game he is involved in, which is alot more than i can say for other players.
