They talk it up say how they're not scared & going to be aggresive & what do they do?.......................they win the bloody toss & elect to bowl!

Someone deserves shooting for that decision, our strongest part of the team is the opening pair so we should have sent them out (on a good pitch) & seen what they could do, if we ended up losing then fair enough.

It seems suicide to leave us with the potentail of facing Warne last at what is probably his favourite Australian pitch but then again I wouldn't be surprised if we don't bat on day 5 at all but end up following on & are rolled over on day 4.

Disappointing very bloody ****ing disappointing escpecially when you've stayed up late to watch it.

.

A bit harsh, but i suppose we are talking about the English cricket team, maybe just a public flogging......... then again they might enjoy that a bit to much. Perhaps russian roulette for the players who drop catches.

Yes russian roulette I like that what a great idea, we could do it so that there are 5 bullets in the revolver wth only 1 empty chamber.:D

Somebody needs to explain to the Poms what cricket is all about. They obviously have no idea. Ever since the Poms got here they've been bleating about how they are going to be aggressive and take it right up to the Aussies, then the moment they win the toss they elect to field!!!
Imagine sending the world's best cricket team in on a fast hard deck with a popgun attack. Nasser Hussain should change his name to Nasser Insane!!!

I don't think it's a big deal Australia has dominated in the recent past before that England dominated so I'm sure the wheel will turn the full circle again.

I have found Ashes quite boring to watch due to Australia winning all the time. I think the world cup will be the first exciting cricket tournament for a while at least I'm looking forward to it.

Don't think this gets Hussein of the hook, but before todays play started, Richie Benaud mentioned that Steve Waugh was saying last night if he had won the toss, he would have done exactly what Hussein did. Mind you, he has a more potent attack to back that plan up.

Yep Waugh would have put them into bat 1st, thrown the new ball to Oh Ah and Dizzy, placed fielders all around the batsman, began the verbal taunts and put them in the cauldron from the start. Hoping to claim about 4-6 wickets by lunch time and completely demoralise them.

No doubt Hussein would have thinking thats what would happen if his team batted 1st and so he thought he might try and get on top early by sending them in.

Ohter thing is sending Aust. in 1st gives England more of a chance at getting a draw. Australia bat for almost 2 days in 1st innings, now England have 20 wickets in which to last 3 days. If they had batted 1st and only lasted the 1st day they woudl then only have 10 wickets left for the rest of the test match.
