Since when do men know recipes? Also begs the question; who here can cook?

Since when do men know recipes? Also begs the question; who here can cook?

Ummm actually I can.

I love to make a Chicken Boscaiola dish.

I start by carmelising some onions and freshly crushed garlic, then add in the mushrooms and stir until they are cooked through.

Next add the chicken (cut into thin strips, not cubed for better presentation).

Start boiling the pasta. Make sure to add a dash of olive oil to the water to avoid sticking noodles and salt to add extra flavour.

Mix 1 bottle thickened cream with one whole egg whisking thoroughly. Add over chicken, mushrooms, onions and garlic and stir through. Mind you, not too long on the heat or it will thicken.

Drain the pasta and stir through the boscaiola mixture and garnish with diced shallots or similar (presentation, remember).

Best eaten with a highly chilled white wine, personally I recommend the Brown Brothers Chardonnay.











PS: I worked in restaurants for years and this is just one example.

i can cook noodles, just boil water and put them in.

i cannot cook sandwiches, i always end up tearing the bread to bits with the knife when spreading.

i can however cook toast, not as soft as bread so i dont tear the bread with the knife.

Syd, I can recommend Goundrey's unwooded chardonnay from the Mount Barker region of WA. A real easy-drinker

My last girlfriend of 3 years was a chef, and the one before that studied food science at Uni, and the one before that has a Sri Lankan mother who is the best cook i have ever known, hence I've picked up a fair bit of info along the way and love cooking.

The jewel in my crown was being taught how to make traditional Sri Lankan curry by my first girlfriend's mother. I still dazzle people with it, and it is one of the best things i've ever eaten, not to mention suprisingly healthy.

Being super health conscience these days, cooking for one's self is essential, not to mention very easy. Nowadays, just about everything i eat is something i've prepared myself.

Agreed, nicolbolas's lasagne is very good! The spaghetti bolognaise runs a close second.

Cook pretty much every night and do a pretty good job if I say so myself. Regularly have friends over for dinner. Actually have rarely been in a relationship where the woman cooks.

And most of my mates know how to cook as well.

Thses days I tend to only look at recipes to get an indication of how to go about the dish. Have never been one for following the acutal recipe.
