what do you have against Matthews?
I think his heart is in the right place but listens to so called marketing experts who are clueless.
The push towards “The Giants” and not leaning into Western Sydney Giants.
Trying to be everyone’s second team etc.
Western Sydney is parochial. As parochial as anywhere and we want them to support the club, yet seem embarrassed to be associated with the word Western Sydney, not on the badge, not anywhere on the kit (though Canberra is).

He is more concerned with marketing gimics. Most of which fall flat. Though we have had some bangers.

They are my second team. And he has a social media crew who are the envy of every other club in the AFL.
So he's doing something right.

I'm surprised he gets away with targetting players infront of the whole team and none of them have cracked the shits in public
Kingsley said on SEN he was asked by the leadership team to do that, named Toby Greene in particular as asking for it.

So he delivered.

The leadership team asking for it wasn't included in the doco sadly but would've been great to show after that spray played to give context.

Really enjoy watching docos like this.
The most interesting thing for me out of it is Kingsley never lets his guard down around his players or his staff (from what it shown). He needs to lighten up a bit, he’s almost the coach version of what Nathan Buckley was as a player.

Thank goodness 7+ didn't go to an ad during Adam Kingsley's half time spray against the Swans.

Halfway through it now. Great doco. Given the emphasis nowadays on coaches needing to mollycoddle and be the best mate of their players it's weirdly comforting to see that there's still some of the old school fire and brimstone coaches like Kingers kicking around. Equally as comforting is the fact that he's clearly got the maximum respect of his players. Looking forward to the rest.
