We are now 7-6 with 5 games left in the VFL. We are currently 12th but only out of the 10th final spot on percentages. Whilst we will lose to the ladder topping Gold Coast, 3 of the other 4 games are against teams currently in the bottom 4 in the VFL ladder.

There were plenty of senior-listed players in action in the Giants' one-point win against Frankston on Sunday, stating their case to try and fit into the red-hot AFL side.

James Peatling threw himself into every contest, laying 10 tackles, while Cameron Fleeton flew into every contest to take 12 marks on top of 21 disposals.

Teen ruckman Nicholas Madden was strong at the bounces and around the ground, finishing with 30 hitouts, 14 disposals, six tackles and five clearances, while the more experienced Matt Flynn had 22 hitouts and one goal.

Wade Derksen was the Giants' only multiple goalkicker with two, with Jason Gilbee booting one from 19 disposals.

After kicking the sealer as the substitute against Adelaide on Saturday night, Josh Fahey backed up with a 21-disposal outing the next day, while Harry Rowston had 22 touches and six tackles.

Veteran defender Phil Davis showed he's not done yet with 18 disposals and seven marks, and youngster Toby McMullin got the ball 15 times, including six clearances.

Leek Aleer had nine disposals, Conor Stone had nine and Max Gruzewski four.

We love our narrow wins ... in VFL as well as AFL!

Led for much of the game, but almost run down. Dolphins could only kick 1.8 in the last quarter against 1.2!

Looks like Josh Fahey flew to Melbourne and played in this game after last night's sub effort.

Although 11th, we are level on wins and just percentage away from ninth spot (in VFL the top 10 teams now make the finals). With 2 of our remaining four VFL games against sides in the bottom three, we are right in contention to making the VFL finals in 2023. Just like in the AFL!

Well done to Josh Fahey and the rest of the players.

Big props to Josh Fahey - comes on Saturday night in Adelaide with 15 minutes to go. Kicks a vital goal. Has to be up at 4.30 the next morning to catch the first flight out to Melbourne, get down to Frankston and play a whole game in the VFL there, collecting a more than respectable 21 disposals in his second win in less than a day.

GWS has managed veteran Phil Davis and youngster Max Gruzewski for its Sunday morning contest with ladder-leader Gold Coast Suns at Manuka Oval, with Jacob Wehr heading the inclusions.

The Suns, meanwhile, have added Brayden Fiorini, Jy Farrar and Connor Budarick among four changes, with Elijah Hollands promoted and Bodhi Uwland injured.

With 3 games left, we are just half a game outside the 10th playoff finals position. The good news is that after a bye next week, we will play Sydney reserves (third last in the competition) and Northern Bullants (second last) before playing Geelong Reserves (around the same ladder position as us) in the final round.

The Giants have four AFL-listed players coming in to boost their hopes of staying in the finals race, with No.1 draft pick Aaron Cadman, in-form half-back Josh Fahey, ruckman Matt Flynn and defender Ryan Angwin all set to make life tougher for Sydney.

10 goals to 1 2nd qtr. Swans board is excited by Buller, Will Gould as a forward.
I thought this team was oķ on paper, I am surprised we aren't playing better. Maybe the players don't see a way into the AFL team with it playing so well, but that is incorrect attitude.
Maybe we should put some of the forwards on the ball to get them involved, or swing them down back.
