I managed to drop in and watched most of the VFL practise match. He seemed to get on the end of a few and kicked a couple of goals. Interestingly it looked like he was playing as much if not more on the wing than half forward. Not sure about him pushing for wehrs spot though. He may need a couple of games before he's picked, perhaps. On a side note Peatling was looking dynamic on-ball and Cooper Hamilton was looking good on the wing, very defensive minded. Others of note, Derksen did some nice things in defence, Angwin looking fast and strong, Gruz took some great marks - he's gone up a level, Rowston was busy all game and Madden just looked a bit slow for my liking. Also Fahey was a class above the level and Stone had a couple of nice moments.

They talk of 14 or 15 'guys' playing their first game.

It would be good to have a proper squad list with just on two weeks to go.

Madden was showing definite progress during the 2nd half of the season.
He's an improving prospect.
