Like I said in the preview thread, had a mate sitting behind them in a cafe this week, while they slagged off their fans who rock up to open training sessions as jobless deadshits, and Hopper talked loudly about how he wanted out to Geelong. Don't reckon their hearts are in it at this point. Culture/leadership needs a rat up it.

he said she said blah blah blah. You do realise every team has players that say shit like this. Every team that has players that cheat on their partners, do drugs, commit violent acts of crime. Welcome to everyday society.

Mate what's that got to do with the price of fish?

I'm saying I reckon the GWS players don't really care about the club being successful. That's not what they're playing for.

As others have stated, a weak prediction. At the start of 2017 Mike Sheehan announced on SEN, 2017 was about who plays GWS in the GF. He was wrong. In the Herald suns Footy 17 booklet, of their 18 "experts" 12 selected GWS as the 2017 premier. This side is very seductive because of their high end draft talent but maybe they have too much talent for the same postitions.
They could probably write on the whiteboard each player in their best position. They will find an abundance of KPF and midfielders/ outside runners. If they are brave trade a few of these for the deficiencies of small forward and shut down defender/mid fielder/forward. With their abundant talent they do not need to develop these types but can directly trade them in.
Maybe then a premiership, but this team will be perennial finalist and that's it.

It was in incredible effort this year from GWS considering they lost the most amount of games to injury in the AFL.

Normally the club with the biggest injury list misses the finals completely. They made the top four. I can't remember that ever happening before.

Need to get rid of Leon Cameron. Inability to win in Melbourne this year is the reason why the Giants didn't perform as what I'd expected at the start of the season.

You need to win games in Melbourne if you want to win a Grand Final

The Giants should be paying overs in trades to get exactly what they need

Shouldn't be too hard to do

GWS did have a bad run with injuries this year, but people forget that they had a charmed run in 2016, with amazing continuity in their best 22 line-up and really - of their better players - only Devon Smith missing a substantial number of games. They couldn't get the job done under those circumstances either.

Normally the club with the biggest injury list misses the finals completely. They made the top four. I can't remember that ever happening before.
Shaw, Shiel and Ward played all 25 games, Davis,Tomlinson, Wilson, Scully, Kelly missed 1, Corr and Williams 2, Patton 3, Mumford 4, Lobb 5, Haynes, Cameron and Greene 6(includes suspensions). 16 players 19 of 25 games. *<19 Smith, Hopper, Coniglio, Kennedy, Griffen, Deledio, Buntine. Whitfield doesn't count as ASADA suspension
Top16. Not sure anyone on their list is ahead of these. That's a pretty good settled team with important players rarely missing a game. Lots of players 17-30 injured but not that bad either.
In 2016 the Bulldogs had only 14 players play 19 or more of 26, *<19 Murphy, Jong, Johannisen, Wallis, Suckling, Hamling, McLean in 2014 Hawthorn had only 15 play 19 or more of 25. *<19 Gibson, Mitchell, Stratton, McEvoy, Rioli, Lake, Sewell.

Of the three groups <19, Hawthorn miles ahead and still won 17 games.

Geez you'd hope that isn't true. They do play a fair bit like a club without a soul sometimes, when they can't get their game going they just don't seem to care or put in effort.

And if I had made a thread about Brisbane in 2000, and the Hawks in 2012 after they lost a prelim and a grand final you and everyone else would be saying the exact same thing.

Who will win it next year? But of course you haven't got the balls to say who you think will win out of fear. Because you're scared. You'll come back with a sentence resembling '' we have to wait and see the teams next year before we can comment '' And why would you say that? commonsense? no.

Because you're a pussy. Full*******stop.

Does making Threads on a Footy Forum give you a feeling of relevance ? Making a Fool of yourself most definitely will.

Current group has shown they just can't get it done when it counts.
This is a dumb justification for why a team won't win a premiership. Up until last year the Dogs had shown an inability to win one either.

Every group winning a premiership for the first time has previously shown an inability to get the job done, otherwise they'd be premiership players already.

Maybe if they learn how to play as a team and run both ways they'd have a shot.
The most obvious thing missing from their game is effort. They ooze talent and ability because they've had access to the top of the draft for so long, but without the effort, two way running, and one percent efforts, they're not going to a GF.

Richmond aren't a more talented side, they just want it more. They play and work as a team. Hawthorn did it, Geelong did it, Sydney did it, the WB did it. GWS haven't done it yet. Maybe losing two preliminary finals in a row will help the Penny drop.

thank you for sharing ... imo they will not get any better until they learn to play as a well oiled machine and strange as it may sound they look top heavy ... like an NBA Allstar game they are full of champions who almost get in each others way. They will score heavily against a team who lets them.

for Cameron it is like trying to coach Victoria or South Australia, too many options.

I don't think GWS will peak until they have more work horses and less superstars.

Hawthorn got better post buddy and Adelaide got better post Danger.

Don't worry Jacob Hopper just wants a premiership before he comes over and eventually becomes our captain.
