Adcock for mine, just. Just seems to me like he has proved more, but maybe thats because i see more of him than the others. Shaw next then Raines. Hard to split them.

Good poll.

Shaw: Plays well above his years and continues to play excellent football of HB. Excellent smarts.
Adcock: A bit of an unknown and stopped Milne where from memory kicked 12 against Brisbane recently. Quickly learning how to create run.
Raines: Great 06 proboly the worst of the three. Explosive and goes very quiet very quickly. Sometimes plays without a brain.

Shaw>Adcock>Raines.

Depends on what for - Heath Shaw for attacking ability, Adcock for defensive ability, and Raines is probably somewhere between the two.

Heath Shaw is probably the most likely to become a midfielder of the three, and he is off to a blinder so far this year.

No bias, but Adcock seems the best for leadership and defensive skills, for attack and pace it'd be Shaw and for a mixture of both Raines.

Adock has had a shocking run with injuries and could develop into a find midfielder, has posted 14+ beep tests and finished 3rd in U18 Victorian State Sprint Championships.

Alot of people think he could become a future captain of Brisbane if he asserts himself into the midfield, he is the toughest of the 3 mentioned.

My vote- Adcock, but a very close call, good poll TBD.

I was going to say I have no bias towards any of the three who will all be very good footballers IMO and I picked Raines . But Geoff Raines was one of my favourite players and the best kick of a footy I have seen , a thing of beauty the Raines kick 'twas .

Young Andrew has a lot of similarities in style to his dad and if he continues to improve I think he will be the most constuctive of the three .

tough call, cos i rate andrew raines very highly....

adcock looks a player, and shaw can create good run and finds space well. If i was picking players, i would pick raines, then adcock, then shaw, but no doubt shaw does a great job creating run.

great poll.

I would go Adcock then Raines and then Shaw.

Raines has barely been beaten by an opponent in the last 2 years despite having to play on people alot bigger than him. He is courageous, creates heaps of run and will be moved into the midfield soon. He is also the youngest of the 3.

I have always been a fan of Adcock as he grew up near me. Came 3rd in the B&F in his 2nd(?) year of football. I think he should make the move to the midfield quite soon.

Shaw IMO isnt no where near as defensive as these guys and thats why i have him third. He also dosent play as deep in defence as these guys have to.

I voted for Raines to get his numbers up:)

But IMO at the moment it is Adcock>>>Shaw>>>Raines. Adcock and Shaw are more polished at this stage, but Rainesy isn't far behind them, just work on those skills.

Wouldn't disagree - However, surely the fact that he has better skills and pace which allows him to play further up the field and through the middle somewhat compensates for that?

I think you will find that H. Shaw will be one of the premier midfielders in the comp in a about 2 years. May prove to be even better than his old man and uncle...
I might believe that if I actually ever see him play in the guts not just taking marks as a loose backman

Very close. Adcocks under-rated in my view, partly because we Victorians don't get alot of him but every time i watch him he plays very well so I'll say him followed by Shaw then Raines.

Watch the game against Port Adelaide at AAMI last year - It's not only a cracker, but Heath Shaw spent much of it in the midfield, and racked up 33 touches.

The reason that we can't play him in the midfield full-time, as you'll see in that game, is that we can't cover him in the backline - We don't have any other quality small defenders.

Does anyone have the numbers for top contested marks in the AFL? Because H.Shaw may have the most of them for a small player.
