One of the biggest sooky la la efforts I've seen after losing his Test spot. Should have been dropped ages ago when he raised dropping catches to an art form and couldn't get a half decent score with the bat.
trying to rewrite history?
Gets dropped for test side because his daughter is sick
accepts graciously that he is number 2.

say what you want about his ability to perform in the side, if anything he has taken one of the best in recent times.

You can criticise Haddin's career on a number of counts, but the one thing you most definitely cannot criticise him for is his handling of selection issues. He's been nothing but gracious.

Haddin's first three years were 10 runs on average better than Gilchrists last three years. You can almost make the case that Gilchrist kept Haddin out of the team for one or two years too long.

Gilchrist (2005 Ashes - 2008) 30.21, 2 hundreds, 6 fifties

Haddin (2008 - 2011 Ashes) 39.68, 3 hundreds, 8 fifties.
interesting stat
however gilly's keeping was still pretty sound then..

and its about attitude and how haddin was getting out. plus..bowlers had a good 6 years to look at gilly before he dropped of..

oh and the ashes WACA knock cancels everything out:p:thumbsu::D

Having him has #2 is also going backwards a bit, time to make Paine 2 and Wade #1. Putting pressure on Wade to perform so that he isnt dropped after 1 mistake cant help anybody. You have a 24 year old keeper at the top of his game right now, hes there for the long haul.

Haddin did go long enough, what he did in CapeTown should of never seen him play another test, or his shot on day 5 vs new Zealand at Perth, or the catches he dropped regularly vs India. He started very well but it went on long enough, and his NSW connections kept him long enough.

Problem with Paine is that he is nowhere near the player he was prior to his finger injury. Haddin is currently a better option until Paine can demonstrate decent form (and add to that one first class century).

That was the moment I completely lost all faith in him as our national test keeper. Good luck Hads, but I hope we don't see you back in the whites.
