Hall reported??

I had no vision of the match, so that's the first time I've seen the incident. Where the hell was an umpire when Thompson pushed Barry over while he was tying his shoelace? What a schoolboyish stunt. If Barry would have had pigtails, I'm sure Thompson would have pulled them.

The focus of this match should be on North's absolutely pathetic performance on the field. Makes Richmond look like Premiers. (Well, maybe North weren't that bad!) :p

I reckon the field umpire saw it all and ran off, leaving it all up to the emergency umpire. Why he did this I'll never know, and I'm surprised this isn't a talking point too.

Putting to one side all the emotion, is Hall seriously a chance to get a few weeks from the MRP? No biased responses .....

A lot of people are saying he'll get weeks - but surely he has a case?

I just don't want to comprehend losing Hall for an extended period ....

Unfortunately he is bound to get a few weeks. The headlock wouldn't go down to well. Given his track record, he will be lucky if he gets off. I don't think they take into consideration what started it. They just look at the evidence. Thompson deserves 5-8 weeks....Hall should only get 1-2 weeks if he is going to be suspended. I think there will be alot of talk through out the week about this game, and maybe some good will come out of it. Maybe we can finally see umpires giving out due penalties before a situation gets out of control.

FWIW Doggie fans I was disgusted at North, but not surprised - it has been going on all year and it was a only a matter of time. The AFL should throw the book at Thompson and the other 3 NM bozos who ran in to jump on BBBBH. He will get a couple of weeks but it sucks, they should get much more for inciting the incident and possibly a riot in the stands.

Wht astounds me is that SAINT NICK got a free kick for a little touch on the back in a major final and Barry cops that all day

Be fair and make it equal to all, plus if a player is trying to make himself better why not help the process not hinder it:thumbsdown:

Who is number 30 for north? Gave Hall a kidney punch as he ran off the field.

Just another one of the gutless wonders who wont be scrutinised on Monday night.

Should have changed his grip and thrown his legs over to stretch him out - could have choked him right out .

I am surprised by the Nth fans over on other forums and on talkback - their game was incredibly poor, we dominated right across the board but the focus for them isn't about what went wrong, what allowed us to cut them to pieces and is more towards trying to claim a moral victory because they made Basil snap? Some even suggest they were right in the contest if not for our cleaner disposal. HA Not when you get flogged that hard rooboys.

I am not one to buy not the "brothers in arms" crap that people try to suggest because they too are a struggling club. Giving each other a sigh and pat on the back etc. Stuff that. I would get great enjoyment out of seeing these pricks fall over and die. Just a shame Bazza couldn't sink it in a bit harder and we could have started with Thommo.

Forwards kick goals, crowds love goals, therefore we love forwards we want our forwards looked after, i say let them give what they get.
Barry, Fev, Buddy they get nothing. Pavlich the umpires throw frees at him same as Llyod used too.

I heard a caller on 693 say he was tuned in to hear umpires mic.
Thompson was told if he continued to to what he was doing to Hall he would give a free against him for the third one.
Surely if that action can invoke a free then why is he letoff for the first two?

Not sure if anyone saw the opening of the Footy Show this morning, but Damien Barrett (correct me if I'm wrong, but he's a North supporter) kept insisting that Barry's in big trouble.

Brayshaw's deflecting rubbish was a joke.

If Hall gets anything more than a fine I'll be discussed. Niggling and harassment is part of the game, but the treatment Hall got ALL day, and then the knee when he was tying his lace was not only crude and off the ball, but it was dirty and totally unsportsmanlike. I just hope for the sake of the game and bit of common sense prevails and BOTH Thompson and Hall cop a fine only. Anything more would be the TRIBUNAL bringing the game into disrepute!

The AFL sure do love their "three chances" policies, lol. Someone else heard an ump say "You've got till I count to three to stop that." What next - "Oh sorry, you only kicked a behind, want another couple of shots?" :p

Could not believe the rubbish Barrett was speaking, if he is a kangas supporter that would make sense, why do we even need to hear the opinion from someone like him, he has absolutely no credibilty.

Reckon Hall has 90 odd carry over points.

Reckon he will get another 90 or so for wrestling etc.

Total 180ish. Have heard he has 50% loading due to history. so another 90.

Total 270= 3 weeks or maybe 2 for a plea.

Not saying I agree but can see this happening......

Grats for Cooney coming in to back up his team-mate. More should have come in and flown the flag.

Apart from Stack who was trying to get between two north players the rest of the team was up the other end of the ground.

North Melbourne's treatment and the umpire's treatment of Barry Hall was a disgrace yesterday. Don't listen to the North supporters, not surprise they condone such tactics. Thompson should be looked at for riling up Hall.

No swearing, nothing derogatory but communist rule slapped a big red one on me.

Karl Marx was a man that believed strongly in freedom for both the individual the the human species. Marx himself said that the value he admires most in a man is "to fight" and the vice he detested the most is "servitude".

Karl Marx defines a communist society as one in which the working masses have direct ownership and control of the means of production and where commodity production has ceased and the economic law of value no longer rules over economic production.

In the opening chapter of capital Marx defined a socialist society as follows:

"imagine for a moment, an association of free men, working with the means of production held in common"

Communism is about workers co-operatives and direct democracy. Societies like North Korea are the complete antithisis of communism, producers are alienated from both the means of realising their labour power and the commodities they produce, the working class have no direct say in how society is managed and there is no direct democracy, the economic law of value production still holds, commodity production is still dominant and goods are not distributed according to need.

North Korea is not socialist or communist, it is state capitalist.

Yeah too bad that "Dictatorship of the Proletariat" thing seems to stick around for such a long time
