We get 2 guns under the Father/Son rule in a compromised draft to compliment the young talent we have coming through at present (who will take over from our ageing stars). There wasn't much to be impressed with looking at Norf's kids (even my North mate said Ziebell was supposed to be an elite kick in junior level but hasn't seen it at present). Getting ex-thugs as coaches only leads to the rubbish you put up yesterday (especially when it then gets defended).

The way Tommy Libba is sucking down darts these days I can't help but think he will be a future star. Professionalism like that is rarely seen at such a young age.

Lets hope they can fill the gaping holes left by Griffin, Harbrow, Akermanis, Johnson and Eagleton next year.

What Thompson and some other players were doing to Hall over the course of the match has brought their club into disrepute IMHO. It's like they weren't even focusing on trying to win the game. Goading an opposition player who has been the focus of so much scrutiny might give some of their players their kicks, but its immature, cowardly, and one questions why the AFL should continue to prop up a club that acts in such a blatantly unsporting manner.

As for you North fans defending Thompson and Brad Scott (who obviously allowed this, may have even orchestrated) have a think about the bigger picture here. Think about what the point of your players running out on to the field, and what they are trying to achieve, and why. Every other team is out there trying to win games, qualify for the finals, and win a flag. I don't know what the hell North are trying to do, but yesterday, it sure as hell wasn't that.

Usually when i watch a game i like teams making a game of it but after watching Thompson and the rest of your mob dishing it out in an over the top manner i wanted the bullies to smash you blokes completely. Every goal they kicked i enjoyed and i dont care much for either side usually.

Hall would be in hospital if Sandilands decided he'd had enough one day. But that isn't even a question because he can control himself.

All of this aside, Hall hasn't been an issue this year. He has to be treated like a rottweiler - the right environment and protection and he wont snap. Less credit to him than others creating a situation in which he keeps cool.

What so many clowns in this thread dont realise is that North didn't "go the biff". Thompson is an annoyance; he does that to every opponent, every week.

The point is that it was only Hall's inability to control himself that escalated the situation. of course the North boys are going to jump in when that thug has our guy in a headlock. where were the Bulldogs to help?

Exhibit A, a st Kilda fan backing the dogs. This team would usually be laying into the dogs, but it shows North have little respect now.

Usually i would hope Barry would get stuck into someone then i could bag him out for thuggish behaviour but somehow those North players made me want Barry to knock em all out and be chaired off. He should have ran into the North coaching box and belted them to, now that would be entertainment.
