When it was Thompson's turn, he heard footsteps (that didn't even arrive) and coughed up 2 goals to Hall. Now you know all you need to about Thompson.

That's awful! I expect 4 or 5 North players to be up before the MRP this week for unnecessary, deliberate, head-high contact.

Unless it didn't actually happen that way.........

Oh well, it will all come out in the wash.

Eade also claimed Hall had not been the only player to receive special attention by the Kangaroos, whom he had already accused of engaging in ''cheap shots''.
''Obviously (Daniel) Giansiracusa was one, even though he clashed heads with Dylan (Addison), but after that he was really targeted by some players and there were a few other players,'' he said.

Footage, please.

Doesn't exist so don't hold your breath.

I actually thought afterwards that Thompson was playing with fire by intentionally letting Hall get close to him. Playing on from behinds, waiting with his handballs. Don't kid yourself, Scott Thompson is not a soft footy player.

Posting off topic images and footage from the past.

You can tell who has lost the argument. :D

Thanks for your brilliant insight.

I really thought it was a poke the bull, get the horns situation.

Unfortunately Barry will be suspended, but I thought the incident was brought on entierly by the Kangaroos players and they got what they wanted.

Footage, please.

Flash is blocked at work, even if I could be bothered, which I cant. Made front position, wondered where Hall was, takes eyes off ball to find out, Hall marks on him. Hey, good on him for having a niggle, I dont mind it at all, but you have to be prepared to cop it the other way.

Also you said Thompson is average and how can an average play be in contention for AA fullback spot in 2009.

Its amazing how blatant north fans have lied in here....first that north had more contested ball now that Thompson was in AA territory. Wasn't even in the extended squad which include 12 defenders...you can claim close to AA if he makes the extended squad, not if he wasnt even in that.

So ST made front position, with Hall coming from behind? Clearly, he was running scared.

Just because he got outmarked, doesn't prove he heard footsteps. And (IIRC), one of Hall's goals came when he managed to get about 30 metres free of his opponent (who wasn't ST at that stage).

I don't give a rats tosser about the incident or the cheap shots... for God's sake it Football, however, the AFL & the Tribunal system don't
see it that way and players get suspended for deeds that their club would be proud of in the past. In this day & age, rightly or wrongly the players
must be role models for kids:- Its a product & a business, not a game
and the AFL wants to protect it

Yes.

I suppose that's right, but Thompson does that every week.

The only thing that has annoyed me was Eade's blatant bullshit after the game. Saying North "attacked" him in groups or that we were sniping because some of his bloke had cut heads (Dylan Addison to get weeks for cutting Gia's head, IMO). Barry got angry, put a bloke in a sleeper hold. Thompson can look after himself, so that's just a by product of the way he goes about it. Rocket needs to get his shit right, and I hope he is called on it though I suspect he won't.

How fitting defending Thompson with a strawman argument.

I said - he took his eyes off the ball... because he was more worried about where Hall was than where the ball was.

Honestly, piles of pointless bleating over what was basically a tussle started by Thompson. I don't think Hall should get suspended for the headlock, and I don't think Thompson did anything (well not anything worth all this sooking anyway) that is worth worrying about. And certainly not something any supporter of any club would like to see if it mean putting Barry off his game which arguably in this case it probably didn't achieve).

If Hall played for North, It'd be majorly pissed that we were risking losing our last fit key forward for a lot of weeks over the sort of niggle that he has faced his entire career - which I suspect, and this is not a troll Bulldogs fans - is where a lot of this Thompson is a dog who provoked him stuff is coming from.

North lost, the scoreboard calls are apt, but any North poster defending Thompson is just mirroring any Dogs poster defending Hall.

Ultimately the tribunal is about to determine who has lost the most from that particular tussle, it'll probably be the Bulldogs.

If Barry Hall was Nick Riewoldt what would have happened?

A free kick would have been paid and it would have been all over, the umpires got it all wrong from the get go and should be held responsible. Because of these incidents that happened in this game we are going to see so many petty free kicks in the forward half for any type of contact. :thumbsd:

The one thing that surprised me about North's game plan was how focused they were on stopping Hall even when the flood gates started to open, which really worked in our favour. I know Scott is in his first year so hopefully for North fans he can improve but on Saturday he coached like an idiot.

No he clarified it, Gia was on and off the ground the rest of the game getting patched up.

'Obviously (Daniel) Giansiracusa was one, even though he clashed heads with Dylan (Addison), but after that he was really targeted by some players and there were a few other players,'' he said.

There is a reason why Nick Riewoldt is the main guy in the new umpire ads. ;)

There was only two definite cheap shots i saw for the game other than the thompson headbutt which could be justified.

McMahon dropping his knees into Picken, dirty but wasn't too hard so will probably only get one or a reprimand and firritto cleaning up giansiracusa well after he kicked the ball in the last quarter, which resulted in gia having to go off with a suspected concussion and a down the ground free kick.

Agreed.

You disagree? Tell me how past footage has relevance?

How does any of this thread bar about 12 posts have any relevance? Your post added nothing just like most of them - probably including most of mine.

Claims from Eade that North players were targetting the man not the ball sound exactly like they are - whinging without basis and have nothing to do with Scott Thompson nudging Hall over.

Claims that North 'targetted' Giansiracusa are just that without any proof. I would suggest that if there was anything untoward going on it should have or will get picked up - somehow I doubt that anything will come of it.

When Reiwoldt was badgered a few years back half of the football world was upset and the other half believed that if you're on the field you're fair game. I would suggest that Gia should have stayed on the sideline if it was a big concern - and no, I'm not suggesting that he has had a whinge about it, just his coach.

When Dogs supporters are all over this thread making unfounded claims and providing childish taunts they pretty much deserve all they get. I would suggest that many of them should very seriously make sure that their own house is in order before pointing to another teams finances, attendances and most of all level of success. \\

Re: Barry Hall has cracked!

Cmon M.S, would you be happy with your club to abandon one of their own. Imagine the Pie army linching a bloke for doing that!!

My club's not involved, so don't switch tack.

When the coach says......."don't get involved".......LISTEN.!
'Doggies did the right thing.
No point in losing players this time of the year.

Mind you, if it happens in a GF......expect a different attitude.
North'd take 1 step forward..............2 steps back.:D

He's still great for the game.

Even North fans should be thanking him...Hall is generating press for them coz on the replays you can see a north jumper or two. About the only reason you'd see them this week. Plus he might now drag out the other North member next time these two play.

More would be good.
