true plugger's and danny's were brutal lol i was'nt disputing that lol. Neck or head makes no difference. Look i do not give a stuff if Barry is suspended or not but you have to look at it this way he has 96. blah blah carry over points he only need 4 points or whatever it is from this incident and he's gone

Fair enough

Well then Thompson shouldn't have hit Barry Hall while he was doing up his shoe. Do it to his face....like a man...and see what happens.

To his face? Um, Hall was there. And you use the word 'hit'. A fine example of this hysterical reaction. Nudging somebody over is hitting them is it?

Just so you know what a 'hit' actually looks like, I'll include an example:

Just keep on being in denial about Squibb Thompson's scum tactics. :)

Did anyone else think it was funny that halls head goes bright red when he gets angry.

That headlock would have hurt, alot. I bet you thompson was squealing like a little piglett.

He will get weeks for sure. Thompson should too.

for what a headbutt that made little to no impact or the little shove with the hip to put barry on ground while he was off balance ?

Did you see what Ryder got suspened for last season? A little jab to hodges chin with about as much force as wacking someone with a feather.

North melbourne should stop crying over this one. The players were sent out to antagonise hall. He retaliates and now your club is complaining about it.

What did you expect?

You kind sir, just hit the nail on the head, right there. :thumbsu: But, North Melbourne are like that though. If Hall goes, so should Squibb Thompson in my opinion. :)

True to form for big Bazza, thru the punch when his target was looking the other way.

lol This post makes me laugh. :D :thumbsu: And what did Thompson do again? Pushes Hall, when he wasn't looking and doing his shoe laces. :o

Thompson niggled him all game but nothing more. So what? There were no cheap shots or hits.

The shoelace incident was nothing untoward or aggressive or cheap either. He DIDNT knee him. A nudge is all it was and Hall overbalanced. It was gamesmanship that got the desired result (Hall taken from the ground) because Hall was dumb enough to fall for it.

Congratulations, this is your 500th anti-North post this year.

I'm glad you don't have a chip on your shoulder, for whatever reason.

lol Hiding from the truth, nice.

Yeh but one act doesn't end with someone suffering a broken jaw or brain trauma.

Squibb Thompson is injured now with a broken jaw? 1st time I've heard of such injury to him.

The AFL needs to take some proper action on this. They've said for a year they would take action on players scragging and similar issues, yet they only focus on the midfielders, or certain protected players, such as Riewoldt.

The AFL wants to keep the game clean, yet it allows players to provoke others knowing that there is no penalty.
Further, is the AFL going to take action over the North players obstructing Hall's exit from the ground? This was pure provocation with an aim to cause a fight or melee, so the AFL should also be taking action on this?

Finally, Hall should be penalised, but when did wrestling incur anything but a fine. A one week suspension wouldn't be such a big deal but anything more would be a joke.

Sensible comment........careful, you won't be popular here!

Something interesting from the Fox Sports website

His stoush with North Melbourne fullback Scott Thompson will go before the match review panel, whose job it is to determine what part provocation played in the Bulldogs star applying a headlock on his opponent for 15 seconds. The answer is plenty. Thompson and his wannabe tough teammates did their developing reputations no favours by aggravating Hall all afternoon. Perhaps if they focused on slowing the runaway Bulldogs rather than poking the bear, the scoreboard would have read differently at game's end. Hall was tying his shoelace when Thompson bravely toppled him over. A headlock that was more about restraint than retribution followed. Coach Rodney Eade noted Hall's irritation and removed him immediately. The Kangaroos couldn't help themselves and continued to bait him as he left the field. How courageous.

It was Thompson and North Melbourne that incited the incident and not Barry and their supporters that are wanting Hall out for weeks, should take a look at the incidents again mate.

It was like the Hawthorn game last year, the Hawks players were out to incite Hall. Did Hall get protection from the Umpires? No he didnt. We all know what led to the 3 50's and that was because the Umpire didn't give him a free kick for holding the man like he should have prior to the incident.

If he had paid the correct free kick, Hall would have been still a Swan.

The AFL should show some guts and try and protect Hall instead of squibbs like Riewoldt who gets all the protection.

That sort of niggling goes on in every single game. The only difference is that Barry (and a few others in the past year and a bit) can't hack it.

No-one has said Thompson was being brave or courageous in knocking over Barry Hall. It was schoolgirl stuff, and Hall should have responded in kind. Not by turning into the crazed lunatic we all seem to foregotten that he is.

What pushing over a player doing his shoelaces? Yeah right.....If the squibb at any guts, he would have waited to do that, until Hall had tied his shoelaces. He would have ran. :thumbsu:

Doubt he would walk over to barry and knock him over if he was tying his shoelaces up in the park.

Face it north supporters, you are wrong.

Fair overreaction from people on both side of the argument.

I think if both Thompson and Hall were to receive a fine then justice would have been served, at least in this instance.

In future the umpires should start paying frees for this shit and it won't be an issue.
