I guess this is all we have to take out of a game which had little else exciting about it.

For those people calling Thompson a coward - Would you 'niggle' Barry Hall, knowing his history and how much of a raging f***wit he is? I know I wouldn't, neither on the field nor in my own backyard. Knowing how damaging Hall can be when up and about, why wouldn't you try to put him off his game? He isn't the first defender/tagger to employ the 'annoying bastard' tactic.

The footy field is no place to be a massive violent w***er. Hall has taken swings at numerous players and ended the career of another. Worst of all is that after so many years, despite all his talk and apologies, he has made extremely minimal progress. He is still a fiery knob and it's his own fault that guys playing on him give him a few elbows and bumps, to remind him that nobody is impressed by his 'big bad Barry' persona.

You obviously have not seen the incident, Hall managed to restrain himself and reacted better then most would in the situation.
Something was obviously going very wrong at Sydney and with Roos to not be able to control him. I'd have a look at my own backyard first.

I'm no Barry Hall fan being an Eagles fan (He did play a great grand final in 2006 though:D:p) but I though he reacted very, very well considering the amount he was antagonised.

Hall is down on one knee doing up his shoe lace and Thomson trots over and bumps him to the ground his hip on Baza's shoulder. Baz stands up smiling, gets Thompson in a headlock and drags him to the ground. Half the North team turn up and jump on and Baz simply puts his arms out ala I surrender.:D

3 -4 more Norths players run to Baz as he leaves the ground still with his arms raised in surrender to bump him and grab him and try and get a reaction.

Sounds like several players were reported for wressling ........... WOW!

What Hall suppose to do simply let all and sundry push him around and snipe at him all day? Hall stood his ground without snapping or hitting anyone and the North players who continued to bait him should get fined.

Loved the commentator:

"If you keep on poking a bear eventually he'll get angry!":D

He obviously is much happier at the Doggies as he put the team first instead of just letting rip.

Finished the first one.

Second one is about a desperately unhappy and frustrated bloke who is a mad footy sdupporter but who has never seen his team win a flag and has a breakdown when he realises he never will.

Working title:

"Year Of The Dog: Life As A Footscray Flog"

Why are people getting so upset about this? I thought it was funny. Defenders have done shit like this before. Is it just so bad because it's Barry hall? The hysterics of some posters in this thread is hilarious.

West Coast Eagles wouldn't know much about backing up their team mates.... When Staker went down your whole team went running to the bench. Of course our players ran over to get Barry off of Thompson, no matter what Thompson did if he's in a headlock he will have his team mates help him.

Of course, they were completely ineffective in actually helping Thompson, much like the Kangaroos football.

This thread is hilarious, defenders have been trying to annoy and 'crack' forwards for as long as the game has existed. They even do it in high school footy.
