What even are the other candidates besides Metroid and Halo?
I think it’s targeting a more casual audience than COD and BF, I don’t think their betas set the world on fire either.
Free on gamepass will get people in aswell.

That's exactly the audience that COD and BF are targeting and have targeted for 15 years. You could probably argue that every fps except for Quake is suited to casuals though.
I thought the technical test last week looked great. Halo looks really refined, gameplay looks balanced and fun. The weapons look and work well with each other from what I've seen. And it's going to be f2p and on Xbox and PC.
I just hope the campaign is good.

I have to say I'm quite impressed with 343i's community interaction. poping into reddit threads, participating in Twitter conversations,etc. I mean compare that with something like LucasArts which feel like an inaccessible conglomerate lol.

They somehow made 2042 look and perform worse than BF1. I reckon even BF4 looks and runs better on PS4 and that's saying something.
IMO COD has been average since around the MW3/BO2 times but I still got enjoyment out of the games up until Black Ops 4. That game killed my interest.

B02 was the last truely great COD MP IMO
Since that I enjoyed BO3 and MW 2019, WW2 was ok however the rest were trash.
I really, really wanted to enjoy Cold War but they just got too many things wrong

The COD games have had a very linear decline. I would argue that every cod sequel since even Cod 4 is worse than the one before it, with a couple exceptions.
I think Cod 4 - BO2 were the only "good" ones. Ghosts to Blacks Ops 3 were "meh but still fun" and every one after that except MW2019 is just awful IMO.

There's been a little smoke over the last week that MP will either be dropping early or there will be an early access thing like there was in Forza.

Cannot wait for the multiplayer. Sick to death of COD and now BF looks like its kicked the bucket too, and I need a change of pace from Siege.
