Yep, if this so called 'hard' man had played the ball he would not be in so much trouble. Up there with Mercuri as the great 5 year deals in AF>

Still at least they can blame Thomas.

Media Release

Thursday, 22nd February 2007

St Kilda Football Club doctor, Dr Ian Stone today issued a statement relating to Aaron Hamill:

“Following a recent aggravation, Aaron Hamill had further arthroscopic surgery on his right knee yesterday, which will delay his return to competitive football. He will undergo an appropriate rehabilitation program and depending on how his knee responds to this surgery and rehabilitation, will determine his return to competitive football.”

Aaron will be available for the media prior to training at 1.45pm today at Moorabbin.

You never want to see any footballer injured, and especially one as prone as Hamill

Hopefully this is the last of it and he comes through unscathed

No comment from JD apart from "and here they come" ... something tells me his on the defensive about this .... wouldn't have anything to do with "WE TOLD YOU SO" when the contract was signed now would it?

Oh time tells plenty, doesn't it JD....tick tick tick tick .... oh how sweet!

Why would he ??

That's his game, and I love watching tough nuts like Hammill, Kerr, Hayes, Kirk, Mclean, Mooney etc throw their bodies around on the field for their teammates.

It's the greatest thing about AFL that you have players who are prepared to punish their bodies to make it easy for their team-mates. Name me another game in the world where you can do that and not squeal like a little girl in return when you get some pay back.

I find watching those guys play a hell of a lot more entertaining than watching some free-baller lurk out on the fringes getting an easy receive and looking like a hero.

I think that sort of playing style should be celebrated rather than ridiculed.

One big difference between the players mentioned above is that all are "BALL" players except 2. I think you can guess which 2.

Unfortunately for your team mate, footy is a contact sport, so I don't have any problem with guys like Hammill and Mooney throwing their weight around at all.

As long as they do it within the rules, fair bump play on.

I hereby withdraw my contention re-Mclean being the most overrated in the comp.

Mr Aaron Hamill step on down.

How awesome is a 600k a year key forward who doesnt kick goals? But geez he sets them up, geez his tough.

What an absolute joke of a career, sans 1999-2000 seasons he would be just another injury prone underachiever.
