I hereby withdraw my contention re-Mclean being the most overrated in the comp.

Mr Aaron Hamill step on down.

How awesome is a 600k a year key forward who doesnt kick goals? But geez he sets them up, geez his tough.

What an absolute joke of a career, sans 1999-2000 seasons he would be just another injury prone underachiever.
I estimate that you have watched 2 AFL games in your life.

Let's see.......2005 AFL Grand Final, and.........2006 Grand Final !!

Close to the mark ?

He should have retired at the end of '06. As far back as 2003 the doctors were saying he should retire immediately.

How long is he out for and how long does he have to run on his contract?

I spose there's a few down at Moorabbin now , that will walk a little shorter , now that the bully is out for awhile. Dont get me wrong he's a tough player, but most of the time does not play within the rules, and never gets reported for his actions.Byron Pickett, Cam Mooney
play just as hard , and now have the stigma of adding another 2-3 weeks on their sentence. Is Brent Moloney another one ?

If he had any brains , he would retire and set himself up for an asst coaching job next year. There will be many coaching changes at the end of the year. The last game he played that req'd an injection was embarrassing for him and the club. He should never had played.Players now have to take some responsibility for this type of result, and stop stringing the coaching staff along. He was clearly rushed back, and i remember Grant Thomas saying "He will leave the decision up to Aaron whether he plays or not, only he know's how he feels".

I think most people would be surprised if he's ever able to string a few good (or even bad) games together from here on. Footballers will never learn that trying to rush back from injuries just makes it worse.

Can't believe he got that contract in the first place though. Even if he never missed a game he wouldn't be worth it. We got burned on the Mercuri deal but he was a player worth that at the time if his body had held up, but what did Hamill ever do ?

Yeah, I agree that he should probably be slowly put out to pasture, can't be much fun getting old with all those operations.

Look forward to him kitting up with the Bombers next year though :thumbsu:

It's not like St.Kilda are going to miss out on anthing. he hasn't hardly played for yonks. Not sure it's a big deal in regards to the team plan. More an added bonus if could've played 6-8 games during the year. unfortunately they have to do this because of his wage.

Did he have a dodgy body before he left Carlton?

I love how Fireman and JD have shut up shop. Maybe they did find all the posts telling us how Aaron will be all good...wait and see.

Shame about Aaron....not good to see but gold for us BF posters as we might get a little respite from Fireman and JD

Name another long term injured player on 600k for five years.
You his manager? You know what he earns? I'm a St Kilda member, and I don't. Obviously you have better contacts at my club that I do ...

Whatever he earns is between the club and himself. The real disappointment is his inablility to throw off the knee problems. There is no doubt we are a better team with a fit Hamill playing; even his most ardent detractor would admit that.
