he did some good stuff in the back half of the season, kicking let him down more than anything, he did kick a few goals too. took some nice marks in the forward line.

I like the guy, more mongrel maybe, but give him time. Didnt know he did 18.5 hitouts either thats not too shabby for a 3rd-4th string ruckman in any lineup.

What's his tank like though. .. I am hoping that he comes good in the forward line and releases Gibbs. .. ahem, I mean Waite. .. into the midfield. .. as well as a great back up ruck. .. still 50-50 on him atm tho. ..

Not sure of this tank, but wasn't he our quickest player for a bit? Or still is? He's a great athlete anyway. I wouldn't have him in our midfield, I prefer our small/medium sized players running around in there, his talent would be wasted if he wasn't a ruck/forward combo IMO

The question of tank was in regard to been compared to Reiwoldt (I assumed Nick) who blows players away with his tank and recovery fitness. .. I wouldn't play Hammer in the midfield but if he becomes a decent forward than that releases Waite onto the wing or the swing man role that he plays best. ..

I like the idea of Waite on the defensive side with free license to swing forward and Hendo playing CHF with the job to cover Waite or at least swing deep into the defensive wing (ie. Nick Reiwoldt) with a stay at home competent tall forward like Hammer could turn in to. .. We need a fit defensive medium forward to complete that circle throw in Eddie, Garlett and a resting midfielder (Murph, Lucas, etc) and our forward line transition could be hard to stop. ..

Similar to Thy here, not completely sold although I have high hopes (could do with some of Kruezer's obvious passion for the contest). I'd say he'll start the season proper in the ruck pushing forward and needs to nail this opportunity as Krueze will replace him when he's ready to go.

With the other two playing I can only see him either forward or in the Ant's.

I think the club would like to hold onto him but if Waite stays forward and the likes of Aussie or a handy draft pick can get a hold on CHB I think the best he will get is in and out of the seniors as required and on this basis I keep having this nagging thought that when his contract is up we may see him playing in QLD the following season.

Remember listening to SEN a few years back, when a guy from queensland training the likes of Hammer, Tippet etc to get to AFL standard. Said that if Hampson could make an AFL footballer then there is hope for others. In other words he was one of the worst of the lot in terms of skill, football ability. This rung woth me ever since, has pure athletic ability but not football ability. Won't be a star bc has not got the football ability to do so, at best will be a good backup ruckman and pinch hit forward. Thats just my opinion.

Agree with the poster who said his main issue is confidence. At times he can take some strong pack marks and at other times doesn't seem to be able to catch the ball cleanly even when not under pressure. Has enormous upside but must find the key to having consistent composure.
