Some of the facts are there but there are far more constructive ways of saying things. The comment that went along the lines of opposition coaches 'quietly' saying the same about our game plan was bs. Where did this quote come from? I think it came from our board, there was a thread a few weeks ago where some were asking about the game plan and there was confusion.

The whole article was just one big slap for the club. He made no new points at all. We have heard it all before but he keeps bringing it up because he has nothing better to do. Can't believe he still has a job. Courier Mail is utter trash.

I refuse to read it. They can't get Joel's picture right (I complained months ago, they told me they'd fix it and they haven't!) and they can't even spell Patfull right.

Not only that, but you have to dig about ten pages in to see anything even relevant to the Lions - if you're lucky.

I haven't seen the article but based on earlier posts, it sounds like he is blaming our last couple of drafts for us being in the position we are in today. If so, that is a ridiculous argument.

Tassie, the fact we aren't winning games at the moment does not magically make every negative accusation that can be leveled at the club automatically true.

Here it is. It's a silly article. One or two fair points but mostly it's a gripe about how there are players in the comp who are pretty good, who we could have drafted if we had a team of psychics in our recruiting department.

Parker's is a great young player, but he went at number forty! Even the Swans plumped for Lamb ahead of him.

Fantasising about who we could have got in the draft if we'd made different picks is a game for idiots.

The bones of an argument are there, but the execution was poor, Hammo. What was the point of this article? Do people still not realise the the Lions are not doing very well? The Lions need membership numbers to survive, and stories like this do not help.

Point also must be made that 1 or 2 different players taken in the past draft or 2 wouldn't change much. We have talented players on our list, problem is the entire list is rookies. Right idea, bad execution. He should know better than saying your only as good as your players in their first 3 years.

To even question Kerr makes the entire article a joke. Kerr has just about single handedly turned around our recruiting the past few years. There is nothing wrong with our 2010-2011 drafting, and outside of Fev our 09 trade period has brought in players that are best 22 and cost us nothing. He fails to nail the cause of said problem, which is the 02-07 drafting.

That's a cop out Tassie, no club deserves such one eyed articles like this. You could very easy do the same article in a light that doesn't take pot shots at the club, it is just not right. The CM isn't going to do the club any favours, i really wish the club would push out some of it's own articles to combat some of the rubbish that is printed in the mainstream media.

It's just a stupid article, that makes no sense. You can take any club and say they could have used picks better, it's not just us. Everyone could have had Parker if he was that damn good, why pick on us about it? especially over a player that hasn't proven himself yet. To say we are rubbish now because of our recent drafting shows how clueless he is. The amount of young players we are playing is comparable to the GC, and they had a raft of top 10 picks in their team, why isn't he ripping into them about how shit their drafting obviously was the past 2 years seems they have only won 3 games in 2 seasons. All those talented kids, surely they should be dominating by now.

He fails to have a grasp on the sport and what to expect of kids at what ages, as well as the make up of the rest of the team. It's easy for a kid to play well in a top 4 team, not as easy in a bottom 4. If he put 10 minutes of research into our named team tomorrow, and when/where they were all drafted he could have easily came to the conclusion that clearly our past drafting is rubbish. We have more kids playing from the past 2 drafts than we do from previous ones. It's lazy, throw away 'journalism' that he writes to suit his anti-Lion views.

Problem for the club is that people that don't know better read this shit and believe it. "OMG, They are so rubbish, what a laughing stock, why would we get a membership, they can't even draft correctly, so much so their drafting manager looks like he will be kicked out the door soon, with Voss surely not long behind."

Lions should put up an article about how well their recent drafting has gone since Kerr has been in charge.

Wow, we have like 8 players left from 6 years of drafting, and only 3-4 of them get regular senior games....clearly shows why we are struggling atm, should show this to everyone! We are such a young team its not funny!

It's my entire point, complain about our drafting, but at least get the right period Hammo. So many people don't realize how bad that period is until it's spelt out for them. Half our team is from 08 draft or later. Very young team, no one is questioning Suns drafting.
