Hampson or Aisake?

Main ruck combo this year IMO would be Hampson and Cloke. Kruezer will recieve some time, but not much, with Ackland and (possibly) Aisake replacing Hammer a fair bit so his young body doesn't get the shit beaten through it!

Maybe I didn't read properly but Aisake was definately moved onto the senior list?

NAB Cup or challenge is where we'll see who should go where for the real deal.

Kreuzer should not ruck this year. Ruckmen have a more difficult job than it usually gets credit for so it would be beneficial for Matthew to spend a year adjusting to the senior level pace the game has to better prepare him for that role.

Ackland - Dud. There is a reason Carlton is his third club. I have honestly never liked him.

Cloke- I see him as a flanker or outside player who fills into the ruck role. His 8 or so games last year were impressive enough to warrant him attention this year.

Shaun Hampson and Aisake aren't ready to be number 1 in any sense. Aisake should get the same treatment Setanta had in his first year ( 1 game against Richmond) and mybe slightly more time but he'll get there. Hampson is probably in line slightly before him.

Ready or not Shaun Hampson is our number 1 ruckman. Will he be any better than Cain Ackland in that role at the minute? Possibly and possibly not but the experience gained now will reap huge benefits down the track so if the kid shows he's ready for it, which he has so far, he should get the job.

Get off the stuff will ya! What is it with this board tonight!? It's like somebody just turned the light from dim to stupid. How is Aisake ahead in his development - he hasn't even played a senior game yet. Hampson has the scalps of White and Sandilands to his credit, kicks goals and looks like being anything.:rolleyes:

Ah the benefits of hindsight  It's easy to say that now after the Port game. Before that however, and before Aisake got injured, there was almost just as much excitement about his pre-season as there was Hampsons, with several threads about Aisake also being created. I could find you a direct quote from a training report where someone had said that Aisake seemed a bit ahead of Hampson in his development. Now, obviously since that comment, Aisake has gotten injured, and Hampson has really shone against Port and Freo, but before that Aisake was just as much in the mix as Hampson. Credit to Hampson, he has really stepped up since, and appears to be a clear starter for us now, but just because you may have a short-term memory loss, does not give you the right to call people "stupid" just because you may not pay attention to past occurences
