Toast Hampson's ruckwork

We got some value.

Maric, Hampson change up in the forward line and put Vickery on the market. We still have Orren as a back up.

The market out there is probably more interested in Stephenson than Vickery right now.

I thought he was one of our best. A good recruit and hopefully he flourishes at the Tiges.

Had a great game. Started a little slowly but worked into the game well. That last quarter he was on a mission and I actually thought he was pretty good around the ground too.

This. The last qtr was when we started to have a decent crack, and he was the reason for that. Very Maric like

Maybe he was just tired as he really hasn't had to carry the load himself like sat night before?

maybe.... but maybe he doesn't realise what influence a big strong ruckman has on the mindset of the midfield. The improvement in our midfield coincided with Maric's arrival ... not so much on Marics Ruck work but his bashing and crashing an his competitive after the ruck dual.

Hampson has a real opportunity to stamp himself in this side but at the moment I don't see him holding onto his spot once Maric comes back.

I'll reserve my judgement at the moment. Angus Graham looked good in the ruck at one stage (18+ hit outs per game average)

Your kidding aren't you? Hits to advantage is what we are talking about, not crap taps to his feet that go nowhere!! Nothing like Angus.

He did what we think is our weakness and that is v a taller ruck. When he tandems with Maric that's when we will see if it works the way envision. I thought he was great.

If you are old enough you would have seen Strawbs O Dwyer kicking it round in the ressies 20 odd years ago. Now he was a giraffe.

I have been a massive critic of hampson when he was at cartlon but mainly due to his foward work and his kicking ability and didnt really see a massive amount of his ruckwork due to Kruezer,warnock,Jacobs all being in the same team along with Hampson

But just watched the GC game again and took particular notice to his ruck work and he was actually very good , Now i know he was against lesser likes but looked like his brain was actually working as a ruckman - impressed so far

But does SFA after the tap which shits me to tears

Really enjoyed his ruck work - won the hitouts quite easily. With more confidence from playing and playing well, he might improve even more which is exciting!

Really liked how Mark Lee gave him a bit of a pump up during the jumper presentation (being a former ruck himself). Hopefully we see him have an even more impressive game against his old (and lesser, more stinky) club.
