completely unexpected type of movie. was great. you gotta love charlize.
Enjoyed it, was pretty good overall even if the end was a bit contrived and a walk down cliche-ville. 7.5/10

It's a great concept and I'm surprised someone hasn't thought of it before in the comic books (although I suppose they probably have), tv show (perhaps animated) medium. A superhero that acts like a troubled sports star. I'm not sure about the movie thought, apparently they had a lot of trouble because they wanted them to tone it down to get a lower classification.

It almost feels as if Robert Redford was directing a superhero movie seeing the amount of fake oversentimentality in the film. The musical score didn't help.
I don't want to give any plotpoints away but it is definitely the most ludicrious superhero backstory in years.
The best parts of the film was Hancock's anger management problems and Jason Bateman's dry wit.

What a horrible script. How can you ruin such a great idea is beyond me but they managed it. Should of made it a comedy rather then what it was. A mixture of every movie genre on earth. I was waiting for the muscial number at the end

Agreed. That angle kinda ruined the movie for me.
It was alright but all I can really say is "meh."

I agree it was pretty confusing on what genre they were actually aiming for, but the movie was never going to be an unreal superhero type movie, it was always just going to be a typical Will Smith movie, few laughs but generally just a fun movie. It faded out towards the end and they tried to be too serious. Overall I got what I was expecting.

I had high hopes but was pretty disappointed, the Theron twist was pretty awful, even if she is a bit of bombshell.

Saw it tonight, was okay, agree with rest of you the movie had no idea what it wanted to be and became very strange at the end.
Got what I expected though.

First half was funny. Jason Bateman was good as usual. Some cool special effects. Was looking good. Second half just lost its way. Movie just had no identity. Not to mention some baffling plot lines.
For example, why do the thugs go back after Hancock with guns after they already know he's basically invincible? Seems beyond stupid.

Didn't like it and as you guys already mentioned, keeps changing between identities.
And I don't know why they spend so long building the character up, reveal the "twist" and then just wind it up very quickly - seemed rushed.

I saw it last night was loving in the first half was a bit let down by the second but still pretty good viewing. Not every film is going to be a masterpiece this one was entertaining and that was good enough for us.
