A problem I've had is not getting any callers after raising from UTG and just taking the blinds. Would you say my expectations of AK are too high? Should I be happy taking the blinds? As a few people have mentioned, limping in often allows the BB to check and gives a tough read after the flop.

If you're playing a cash game, I would say you're going in with a tournament mindset - or, that is, how A-K is played in tournament poker, or how you see it played on WPT or whatever.

In a cash game, you're just not going to get action on some hands. But, for every raise to make with A-K with no action, you'll get the same with trash hands, if you have the right image. So if you only take the blinds, so be it, just move on. It's not like a tournament where people wait for big hands and see not getting action as a missed opportunity to increase stack size.
