Whats his current contract position?

Rumours around Melbourne are he is looking to head home. Is now about the 3rd or 4th best mid at Sydney but i think would walk into the midfield of a couple of victorian teams.

Seems like he loves the club and is well on his way to a leadership position so I doubt these rumours pretty heavily.

Don't know his contract status but someone around here will.

I am reasonably certain Hannebery is quite happy at the Swans but if for some reason he did want to go home to Victoria i would expect quite a bit for him as he is a really talented player and a natural leader.

So which midfields of Victorian clubs would he NOT walk into?

Collingwood is the only one where he might face some competition, but I suspect even then, he would be well within their best 22.

In recent years Sydney have been very good at managing home sickness. The only one’s who couldn’t really hack it was Mrs Jolly and her post natal depression and Byron Sumner who we don’t miss either.

Im not saying we don’t get players who don’t want to go home, Im sure they all do at some point of their tenure, but the swans Melbourne originated players actually get plenty of time in Melbourne. Some of them even known to fly in for overnight things midweek, it’s only a short plane trip away unlike Perth. Adelaide’s only a short trip away but not so many flights so logistically it’s a little harder.

Anyway on Hanenrs I don’t see any real signs of a player suffering home sickness and being Melbourne based heard nothing either. Everything he does shows a great respect for the club and it’s culture and he’s got leadership written all over him.

Future captain, he knows it, not going anywhere....mate went to his b'day earlier in the year in Melbourne and asked if he was coming home, only in the off-season he said.

Same rumours that Sam Reid was also "homesick".

As has been said already he isn't going anywhere, loves the club, playing in a successful team with a great future and will eventually be our next captain.

I've heard Ziebell and Swallow are looking to get out of the spotlight of Melbourne and are trying to get a trade pushed through to the Swans in return for Jesse White. North just wants the ability to have 19 on the field. Or that's the rumour at least.
