Haven't seen Cotchin touch a footy yet, and I said Leunberger would be a superstar after watching one quarter of a championship game a few years ago, but Kruezer does look a belter. Amazing movement for a ruckman, but he holds his own in the ruck which is rare for youg blokes no matter how talented. Swoops on the footy and very good hand to foot. Will be a star.

He went to Richmond, I take it back. They have an uncanny ability to teach kids how to NOT play the game. A shame nonetheless.

Palmer from Freo will burn out. Kicking is patchy and is probably the most unnacountable footballer in the country. Masten looks great, though. Harry Taylor looks fantastic, too.

My only query over Hansen is positional. I think we have to work out his best position and stick to it. None of this "utility" rubbish. I think it will take one mark running back into a pack in a big AFL game for him to "click". Guys like him thrive on that one quarter or game where you know you belong. It's pretty obvious that the Roos have decided that he's going to be a future KP backman. Had a word with DMac at Nth Ballarat a few weeks ago and he indicated that they were going to develop him as a backman with a view to hopefully establishing himself as a regular player by seasons end. All of this will be dependent on form, injuries etc but they are keen to have him in the side on a more regular basis.

Where Laidley probably differs in his approach from other coaches in respect to young players, is that he expects them to earn their spot. He doesn't see the need to play someone just to give them experience. Lachie probably would have got the spot taken by Leigh Brown in Round 2 if it wasn't for his foot and now he has to keep on playing well with Werribee in a bid to earn that spot of Browny.

I'd play him ahead of Brown, S Thompson etc because I believe that they wouldn't offer much more than he could, and he could obtain some much needed experience. Like a lot of sport people he plays his best when pitted against the best.

Im not worried about his development but I am worried that other clubs might be sniffing around as they see he isn't getting much of a go. Pretty sure that Josh Smith will get a game forward this week, which will reinforce the Roos approach to developing Lachie as a backman.

Don't forget for one minute that coaches, assistant coaches etc, when talking to a member of the public regardless of whether they are freind or family are never going to give an honest answer for fear it will end up in a public forum, at least in the past ie pre internet, if you heard such a rumour from a credible source it would likely have legs, nowadays who in there right mind would give out such info only to have it digested and then turned upside down and inside out and posted on an internet forum populated predominately by pimply 14 year olds?
If I was Dmac or Bewick or any of the other coaches and a 'friend' of the family wanted some inside info, I would feed them bullshit and then buy them a beer at xmas time.
