Is Hansen out of contract at the end of the season? If so i would say there would be a few Victorian clubs throwing money his direction after the form he has showen this season. I hope we can hang on to him if he is out of contract.

Ash will not leave the Eagles as he will be comitted to were the Eagles are going pretty much the same as Juddy has done.

I think that loyalty is their a little in footy these days than it use to be and thing that this such a good think and I hope the footy clubs show faith and support in the players do. Brisbane is a great example of this fact and look at the success that they have had. :) :)

I believe he was re-signed on a two year contract at the end of last year (after being on a one year contract for 2004).

Phew..I've heard a lot of people saying that prior to his okay form towards the end of last year, it was a pretty near thing whether we sent him or Paul Johnson back east. If he hadn't managed to get in a few good games prior to his hamstring seizing up...

You know the rules Mead, you are only allowed to mention injuries to opposition players! Sneaking over here doesn't admonish your responsibilities to the team.

Whilst some players are definately tempted by money (woewodin etc) I think that you wouldn't find too many players that would leave if in hansen's position. The eagles are doing very well in terms of form and look like they may be the start of a productive few years with such a young sqad so I think most would relish the opportunity to be part of a team with more than a slim chance of winning (a) premiership(s).

:D Good post.

I'm pretty sure he's come out publicly and said he likes it here. I also heard somewhere that he has a lady friend he doesn't want to leave.

His dad said that he kept saying that he didnt want to come home untill he'd played one game for the Eagles and now this year there has been no talk of coming home.

She's not a wench, she's a very nice girl.

I even went out with her in year 2. :p

we had to pick between Johnson and Hansen, we chose Hansen and he re-signed a 2 year deal. As we know, Johnson was traded. Right decision.

Johnson ended up at Melbourne as part of the Stenglein Trade. He has played a few games this year as there second ruck. Good to hear Hansen has got another year thanks for that.
