He's always been a talented footballer but he required a few seasons and an attitude re-adjustment (no doubt compliments of Worsfold) to get to where he is now. I agree that Gilmore's been hit and miss this season, but when he's turned it on I reckon it's been more than enough to see that here is a bloke worth perservering with.
