I've got the Hawks pencilled in for 12th. I'd love a 2006 surprise and see them take a better-than-expected leap and finish as high as 10th. But I expect the progress to probably continue slowly but steadily.

But I'll certainly agree to wish all Hawkers a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

And for the few of you who care...here's hoping the Trojans pump and deflate the pompous orange Longhorns on January 4th!

Tenth is probably a realistic mid-point for expectation.

Finals are not out of the question. Two years ago ('04) we went into the year with a suspect midfield - to put in mildly. Last year it was an under-done midfield with one or two missing pieces. This year we start the year with a gun midfield. Also the All-Australian Centre-Half Back, a leading goalkicker, the second best (at least) ruckman in the competition and the prospect of a reasonable return from a bloke who was almost AA CHF last time he played. Oh, and a HANDFUL of improving young KPPs.

I'd be happy with clear improvement in execution of the game-plan and a few more wins.

Finals are not out of the question by any stretch; even a win in the first week of the finals from a young team with lots of flair is not impossible...

An exciting year ahead, possibly including the sort of results that make you extra-thrilled watching the footy.

Happy new year fellas, going with my head, around about 10th position would be possible just missing out on a finals birth, but with the heart, hawks to scrape into the finals finishing 8th, or just missing out 9th or 10th!!! Go Hawks 2006 & Beyond!!!!

The key to us making the finals in 2007 Mr L. I will be hoping our club's plans will be in such an order we will be top 4 come '07, in other words we will be doing a great deal of frog-leap jumping between Sept '06 and Sept '07.

Oh gee whizz the XXXX is getting at me. Did you know in the twin towns of Tweed Heads-Coolangatta, where the stupid DST time zone now runs through a great big metropolis, there are two New Year celebrations within an hour of each other ... no wonder I'm becoming an alco .... zzzzz fallen asleep and missed both of them:(
