Welcome Draftees to Harbour City Hornets
Pick No. 4 – Brad Crouch (Adelaide)
Height: 184cm, Weight: 83kg, DOB: 12/01/1994
Recruited from: North Ballarat Rebels
Player comparison: Luke Hodge
Profile: Really strong inside player. Could play AFL footy now. Very ready to go. Physically is ready. Has a complete game. Really hard worker and will never die wondering. Future captain material. Ball use very good and is good by both hand and foot. Speed very good and can break the lines. Can also play off a back flank and provide some high level rebound and I expect this is where he starts his career before building into a full time midfield role. Very low risk guy where you know what you’ve got, and you know he will succeed in a big way at the next level.

Pick No. 29 – Nathan Wright (St Kilda)
Height: 183cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 16/02/1994
Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays
Player comparison: Corey Enright (more inside)
Profile: Wright is an athletic defender who can also push into the midfield and have an influence. Has excellent pace and a great leap on him. As a defender Wright has the ability to play shutdown roles on smaller or medium types but can also run off a back flank and provide some rebound. Defensively he can go with most players in the air and won’t get burned by too many quicker types. Has the ability through his running to do some damage and can really burst away off a back flank with his explosiveness and has a mean sidestep allowing him to really create separation and easily pass by the opposition forward to start that explosive drive only he can create. With his leaping ability has the ability to take some highflying marks and with this feature of his game might also have potential as a forward which could be something looked at as an alternative depending on team needs. Wright also has the ability to go through the midfield, win his own ball and play a role and I think could really thrive in a full time inside midfield role with his ball winning ability. Just plays with a great physicality you love to watch and can win his own ball.

Pick No. 34 – Sam Colquhoun (Port Adelaide)
Height: 179cm, Weight: 72kg, DOB: 20/12/1994
Recruited from: Central District
Player comparison: Heath Scotland
Profile: Colquhoun is a back flanker with elite endurance and above average footskills. Really hard runner and gets into space to provide an option. Colquhoun while not a super high hurt factor type uses it well and can set up some meaningful drive at times by picking the right targets and using it well. Down back Colquhoun also stands out with his intercepting game and he regularly rebounds everything that comes his way. Most suited to playing loose an rebounding role down back.

Pick No. 41 – Tim Broomhead (Collingwood)
Height: 182cm, Weight: 73g, DOB: 22/03/1994
Recruited from: Port Adelaide
Player comparison: Heath Shaw
Profile: Broomhead is a versatile type who can play midfield, forward or back to a high level. Broomhead has a solid all round game. Wins his own ball, has a good skill set, has some real pace and is strong overhead. Broomhead will start his career in more of an outside role and hopefully work his way inside as that part of his game develops further and he adds more size to his frame.

Pick No 63 – Jason Johanissen (Western Bulldogs)
Height: 178cm, Weight: 77g, DOB: 08/11/19924
Recruited from: East Fremantle

The young utility has pace and good foot skills and will become a solid contributor in the Bulldogs midfield in future years. Johannisen made his debut in Bulldogs colours in 2012 after being elevated off the rookie list..
The second year rookie elevation was a standout in the VFL this season eventually making his senior debut in round 19, demonstrating poise and composure across the wing and through defence.

Pick No 64 – Brodie Murdoch (St Kilda)
Height: 187cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 21/01/1994
Recruited from: Glenelg
Profile: Murdoch is an undersized key forward who might need to settle into more of a 3rd tall leading role which he is probably more suited to at the next level. For a tall has a really nice left foot on him. Like his brother is also a very high level athlete and has the speed, agility and leap on him.

Pick No 79 – Mark Hutchings (West Coast)
Height: 181cm, Weight: 81kg, DOB: 25/05/1991
Recruited from: West Perth/St Kilda

He's 21 years old. He had a year at St Kilda, and has played the last two seasons in the WAFL. He's a former Western Australia under-18 state captain, and a really good young man who has gone back and done a hell of a lot of work at West Perth. He's an elite midfielder in the WAFL. He polled over 50 votes in the Sandover Medal this year. He's a physically mature body, so I'm sure he'll do everything he possibly can to get a shot early on in the NAB Cup.

Rookie Draft Pick No. 3 – Jackson Sheringham (Geelong)
Height: 179cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 22/06/1988
Recruited from: Werribee/Bell Park

Mature-age midfielder from Bell Park, who first crossed to the Cats with James Podsiadly in 2009 after 17 games with Werribee Tigers. Impressed in eight games with Geelong’s VFL team in 2011.

Rookie Draft Pick No. 18 – Nathan Wilson (GWS)
Height: 184cm, Weight: 78kg, DOB: 07/01/1993
Recruited from: Peel Thunder

Wilson is a medium defender who can also play in the midfield and use his speed to break the lines.
He has an excellent natural leap and is a member of the 2010”11 AIS”AFL Academy squad.

Just in case we didn't understand what you meant, you explained it three times! ;)
