Ok guys I'm going to say it. This current list will not win a flag. I don't mean none of the current players will, I mean none that are in the second half of their career.
There is no way we'll overtake Hawks, Freo or Sydney before GWS and, after a few tweaks, GCS take over the league.
I think the current Richmond and North squads are similar to us that they'll peak somewhere between 3rd and 6th and then fall away. So in my eyes the race is on to quickly rebuild. I think we can be a good side in the peak of Daniher, Heppell and Z. Merrett's career and the back end of Hurley, Hooker, Colyer, Zaharakis and Carlise's careers.
What are your thoughts on this? Should we keep tweeking this list or prune it right back?
Your seriously underestimating the regard in which Hams is held.
Stop hamming it upGet out, or I'll carve you.
The hard decisions aren't "should we get rid of these guys who add nothing whatsoever to the list?".The hard decisions are whether we should settle for simply that or look beyond getting rid of the people with no future.I don't see any hard decisions needing to be made. Natural progression for mine.
Chapman - probably retires.
Winderlich - probably retires.
O'Brien - possibly delisted.
Pears - possibly delisted.
Giles - possibly traded/delisted pending who comes in.
Kavanagh - possibly delisted.
Fletcher - probably retires.
Kommer - possibly delisted.
Hams - possibly delisted.
Aylett - possibly delisted.
Only half of these need to be turned over and that's nothing drastic as likely to be a few retirements. Should also free up some cash to chase some free agents like Dangerfield and leuenberger.
Should be fairly easy decisions I'd think.
Especially around Xmas time![]()

I hope hams knee is ok - otherwise the surgeon may take him to the deli to operate.
