The biggest concern for me is that we're becoming like Richmond have been in the last 5 years. They have taken solid conservative picks with their first (except for inexplicably passing on Heppell) and picked up a journey man or two every year who immediately fill a roll, Hampson being the exception. NOB, Kav, J Merrett and these guys seem decidely fringe to me.

Regards Bunk's more positive outlook, when are Hocking and Myers back? Can we expect much from them this year? I agree with you that the club was having a crack this year and next, but if we aren't pushing deep into September this year we won't be winning a flag next year. There will be a bit of a drop off after that and GWS will be unstoppable.

If we have room in the cap I hope we chase Dagerfield this year. I would rate us next year if we keep our backline together, TBell finds form and somehow we make the forwardline function then having the speed and power of Danger at the stoppage works with Myers, Watson, Heppell and Hocking. Really need Laverde and Langford beating that door down. I've got a real feeling about Laverde.

Anyways I'm really torn. Either way I want the club to shed a fair bit this year

I don't see any similarity's between our drafting and Richmond's. Richmond seem to find a B-grader every first rounder and not much after that. We seem to take more risks with our first round selections (Kavanagh, Langford, Laverde) with the hope of finding an elite player and then we make at least one excellent pick up late in the draft each year.

I think keep Kav.

We have more then enough to go before him. Id just like to see him given a 6-8 week patch of AFL as the non starting sub before we rid him.

Unfortunately the draft ive heard isnt meant to be that strong this year.

What are the players that people would be happy to trade that also have some value?

i reckon Kav will go, he's not getting hardly any game time. he'll go where he can play Footy in the senior side ,

look here when they may return http://www.afl.com.au/news/injury-news/injury-list

Retire: Chapman (?) Fletcher Winderlich

Gone: Kav, NOB, Pears

Upgrade: Mckernan

That gives us 5/6 live picks plus the upgrade of McKernan. That is enough to invigorate the list.

Pears and NOB are no brainers, if either stays on the list id be shocked.

Pears simply can't get it together and NOB just isn't up to it unfortunately. Good VFL player.

He tried shopping himself around last season and didn't have any takers. Can't imagine it being any different if he still can't break into the firsts here after another year.
he may have to play in the VFL like Hardingham is at EssendonVFL if he doesnt get picked up in the Draft

sweet. Those 2 games were boss. Let's try again
In all seriousness, he hasn't got too many flaws, except maybe his kicking skills (but still works within his limitations). Fast, endurance best, get's the hard ball and a tackling machine.

I haven't seen our 2nds play since Ballarat last year; is he a chance at senior call up or too many ahead of him?

Unfortunately he's on the rookie list so can't see it, but he'd be top 5 each week most of the time.

Is it just me who'd like to see NOB in the firsts? He hasn't really been given a chance in the AFL, whereas someone like Melksham has been given years to show his worth and is still an average AFL player. With Myers and Hocking out it would make sense to give him a shot in the guts, especially considering how poorly we're doing in the clearances. Unfortunately, I have to qualify this post by saying that I haven't seen NOB play this year.
