Interested to know why they feel we need extra fitness training in the middle of the year?
Wouldn't game time sort this and if players for what ever reason haven't got the miles in the legs after a game, they do it on Sunday or Monday, based on individual needs???
You would think that seeing the talk all week is about the lack of runners with Bateman out, I think we are trying to raise the fitness of our 2nd tier mids like Lewis, Ellis, Morton, Kennedy, throw in Dew, injury rattled Crawf, and even Croad, and you have a list of blokes who all wouldnt be considered up to scratch just yet.
There is medical reasons on why recovery sessions are so important even for guys like Renouf who may play limited time, there is no way players will be forced to get the "extra miles" on a Monday.
Trainings arent set up like they were in the past, its not about doing the same drills every week, its all about players fitness levels and 'years'. Its about when to do the hard yards to guarantee a fit and firing 22 come the important part of the year. It is good that there are players who have areas of fitness still to improve.
