For me it was last year's GF. Living here the Bulldog mania rubbed off on me, I bought into the fairytale, and really wanted them to break their drought. Really don't care for the Swans either. They're one of the Melbourne teams I don't mind so much, partly because I've made the scray my home. The prelim against GWS nearly as much.

t!
everybody bought into that stupid ruddy fairy tale... opposition supporters, cab drivers, umpires...

not me I stood strong... bet u all regret that shit now.

2010 gf I was not really backing either team but got caught up in the comeback. When Goddard plucked that mark I was not very composed.

Round 22 1995

Cheered hard for Sydney to beat Collingwood so the Brisbane Bears could complete the fairytale and make their first finals series after being 4-11 with 7 rounds to go. Overcame a 45 point 3 quarter time deficit against Hawthorn in one of their wins on the run home.

Sydney were trailing the Pies by 4 goals at half time and 2 goals with a quarter to go. I remember live crosses to the Lions club to view the reactions from supporters. Superb moment.

I have to say I cheer fairly hard in many games- fist pumps, finger waving, calls of 'yes!' the whole thing- even switching teams mid match. Sometimes I surprise even myself by who I am cheering for. On occasion I get annoyed by results as they fall, yet the difference is the 'bitterness' disappears almost as soon as the siren goes, in contrast to matches involving 'my' side.

I haven't cried at a football result since 1987- yes, i am proud.

Port Adelaide vs Hawthorn, 2014 Prelim, was in the members, and still remember thinking the ump was going to pay HTB to Port on the siren

The opposite end of the spectrum: the hardest it has been to see either team win.

That would have to be the Port vs West Coast final. A very hard game for a bitter Melbourne fan to watch. Port don't deserve to be 5th and we all know why I won't be supporting West Coast.

Must admit the game I enjoyed most last year was when West Coast came to Adelaide in round 23 and comprehensively smacked them. They went from potential top 2 to fifth. I knew they weren't going to win the flag then and there.

Adelaide vs West Coast, 2006 Prelim.

Was at the pub with a few Eagles mates, screaming for the Eagles to get there.

Last years Prelim Giants V Dogs I never before cheered so hard for an opposition club as I did for the dogs that night. I had to remind myself I am still a Cats fan lol

What epic match that was btw.

Geelong 2007 2009 2011 GF, what a great team.
Sydney 2012 GF, I liked this Swans team, the effort they put in every week. I knew they were going to win it in 2012.
Hawthorn 2014 GF, showed the suddenly star studded Swans this is how you get it done. Kurt Tippett losing!
Western Bulldogs 2016 GF, same as above. Plus another loss for Tippett! :( :(
2017? ... if not Adelaide, hopefully Richmond or Geelong. We'll see.

I also wish Varcoe had left the ball for Mitch Duncan to mark, who was standing in the forward fifty by himself!

ED: Burgers was pretty amazing that night... One of about three times I can recall Enright making a mistake
Geelong were good that night and Varcoe gets unfairly lambasted a bit...not as though it was a goal square miss - under pressure, late in the game, 40+ out.

Also think Mitchell deserves more credit for our win. Don't get me wrong, Burgoyne was instrumental in the last, with 4 important touches and a key late goal but Mitchell was easily best on ground.

Geelong had dominated the middle in the streak of 11 up to that game and Mitchell got a dedicated tag (albeit from Taylor Hunt) and had 38 disposals, 11 clearances and set up everything. For perspective, our next best midfielder was probably Isaac Smith who had 18 touches and was pretty quiet. It was Mitchell vs Geelong for 3 quarters and he was still pretty important in the last with 7 possessions. One of the best individual final's performances I can remember
