Big calls.

The issue with Freo is you never know what's going to happen on any given day.

It's what drives their fans insane.

I just thought that they were a little more realistic than the ones that I responded to I didn't do it as a stir. Yes you have to feel sorry for them at times dont you?

I think it's still 2 early to demand CC to go...look at our fixtures & the players retunring...there is a fair chance we can still go near to the 8. If thats not good enough, so be it, & replace him at seasons end.

Rnd 13 V Roos at Subi - Should win
Rnd 14 v Adel at Aami after bye - mcpharlin, Haddrill,Walker, Carr back, won there last year - May win
Rnd 15 v Dogs at Subi - Should win
Rnd 16 v Carl at Mcg - Should win
Rnd 17 v Melb at Subi - May win
Rnd 18 v Coll at Mcg - may win

These next 7 games are HUGE in the context of Freo's seasons & CC's tenancy. Win 5-6 of these games & all will be forgotten, perhaps. If not, it's time leave the house....CC.
I would say the Roos game is a may win, rather than a should win. If we win less than half those games, I'll join the calls for CC's head. If we win all 6, he can stay for next season. Anything in between, and I'd say that sacking him is probably going to do more harm than good, by the time we find a new coach for next season, etc.

Then theres the problem of what coach is available? All 15 clubs have coaches who are signed up...it would be a matter of poaching one, highly unlikely or going to another untried assistant coach, Sumich?, O'Donnell?, Bond? Royal? - hopefully not...or pulling an oldie out of the back, Blight?, Ayres? Frawley? Judge? - also highly unlikely. There are no high quality coaches available in the market.

All will be revealed in the next 2 months...
If Nine lose the broadcast rights, then Dennis Commetti will be available. He's got senior coaching experience after all. Admittedly not in the AFL, but lets not be fussy here. You just get the feeling that he'd have all the skills centimetre perfect. :D

Alternatively, Mark Harvey wouldn't want another assistants job, but he would jump at the opportunity if he heard a head job was available at Freo.

Seriously though, it not obvious who is both available and better suited to the job than Connolly.

There's no way in hell being the WAFC's 2nd team will ever reap us the rewards . All they want is a club that at least breaks even in the financial stakes and keep the Eagles stadium warm, while they're playing away.

More conspiracy theories

Yes the big, bad, WAFC are to blame for all of Fremantle's underachieving ways. I guess they were also to blame for re-appointing CC too? Despite the fact they were never even consulted?! The only club being held back by the WAFC are the West Coast Eagles. We aren't allowed to build a supporters club/bar at subi because it would give us too much of an advantage over Freo  Like it or not the FFC, like the WCEFC, is owned by the WAFC and always will be so you better get used to it.

When the Eagles enetered the comp, they could call themselves whatever they flaming well like. They chose to try and cover the state by the name West Coast. When the AFL announced the second team out of WA they nominated it would be 'Fremantle'. The resons were all based on the support and history of Fremantle. They espoused virtues of the East Fremantle and South Fremantle fooball clubs. They made referances to the record crowd at a WAFL gf was a Derby and spoke highly of the love for their respective clubs.

Yes we joined a national competition but as an urban grass roots club. If you wish to down play that or attempt to disdain the stigma of a suburban team in a national comp, go ahead, knock your socks off. I've said before, you don't need to come from Fremantle to barrack for them but you need to get used to the idea that's who you barrack for.

The only thing Oakley & Jackson did wrong was give the license to the WAFC. Now this anomaly needs to be addressed and before the new rugby and soccer competitions take off.

Yes I see an identity crisis at the moment and once this is sorted, we'll be invincible.

I for one am sick of hearing people accept second best. Obvious you people that think CC is going well embrace a certain form of failure. Who cares what the past was, we got through it, but now it is time for a bit of success. We've deserved it.

As someone said, the team today is a much better team then 1997, which was a rabble. Yet Neesham was still able to get that team within a win of the finals, while CC struggles to come even close. Says a lot I think.
you have hit the nail on the head to many supporters are happy with second best cc will never take a afl club to a flag we need a good tough hard coach(hard coach with a bit of football brains breeds a hard smart side )(pussy coach breeds what we have now)

Time has come for change, if we don't make the finals and i really don't think we will even with a contract he will get his marching orders, with the talent that we have we should be playing finals football

Dutchey, you are so right, this is nota knee jerk reaction to a couple of bad weeks, its alot of very passionste FFC people standing up and demanding a change before things get out of hand,we can at least say we tried to change the situation and not bury our heads. As i said before,i think the on field performance will change very quickly with the right man in charge,it wont be another 3 year plan.Lets hope something happens before some of our best quality players seek homeward trades while waiting for the next 2 year plan some have mentioned during this thread!

Money would'nt be a factor, hes already on 500k here plus media endorsements. If he asked to be traded back to SA it would be up to the crows and power to come up with some pretty big trade packages because i doubt either SA will finish bottom 4 at the end of 2007 and have neither the pre season draft hold over us or early draft picks. Anything could happen in 3 years though.

I do not rate anything that Hardie says ...

How can you rate a bloke who

1) Gets sacked from a NON-PAYING job with the wooden spooners (Bulldogs) for slagging off his own club in the press

2) Has always had a chip on his shoulder that Freo did not want to involve him in the club (thank god !)

I agree, anything that comes out of Bloodnuts mouth is for his own purpose and not for the good of the game. Maybe someone should bring up "rumours" about his gambling addictions and see how he likes it.

You anticipating coming last? Otherwise you're going to need to trade for him, ensuring you give up at least 2-3 quality players.

It's bloody hard to buy players in the AFL unless you finish bottom, or at best 2nd bottom.

MP-''Cameron listen I dont want to leave but I play to play in premiership sides , and I dont see Chris cutting it, Cameron I really want to stay but not under Chris...please trade me or I walk and you get nothing''

CS'' Matt Matt stay Chris will deliver , it doesnt happen overnight ... we are so close ..finishing 9th the last 2 seasons must show you that''

MP-'' Nathan Van Berlo is a Perth boy ... ask for him and a 2nd round draft pick''

Roos home - wont win
Crows away - wont win
Dogs home - chance
Blues away - slight chance
Melb home - unlikely
Pies away - no chance
I must have missed your post from late April saying
Dees away - will win
Pies home - absolute thrashing
Dons away - won't win
Hawks home - won't win
Cats away - will win
Lions home - won't win.

Didn't pick that? so why should we give a flying ******** what you think will happen in the next 6 weeks?

CS'' You want to play in Melbourne? Aren't you from SA?"

MP "Minor detail. Give me a couple of years there, 10 years of my career will be gone, I'll end up a 3 club player.... but I tells ya, I'll make it back to Sarf Ostraya before I retire"

CS" Whatever you reckon Captain Matt. Good luck - I hear that Carlton have some promising youngsters coming through..."

SP - I'll keep an eye on the pub and it's occupants. Now Pav my wife has a good friend from Coogee, of Croatian background, and not related to Jako. She's coming over for a bbq tonight, you'll be there!!!.

MP - I'll do as you say, Shane.

Just to clear it up a bit.

From what i've read yak is ambiguous at best with his loyalties.

Ripper says he (yak) is one of us.

sabre banned him at one stage cause he thought he was trolling.

Most of us know yaks posts are usually informed and objective.

I identfied a sentence which might lead to the anwswer. He doesnt comment on his loyalties. Most regular Fremantle poster's, I imagine, would see humour in indentifying some part of the japgangsta's make up. ;)

The Yak-man: an enigma wrapped up in a Nori roll and constantly serving up large dollops of wasabe to unsuspecting freo-ites. ;)
