An innocent man who was badly injured by police during a botched raid is in "disbelief" that Victoria's anti-corruption watchdog cleared officers of using too much force during the arrest, his lawyer says.
The VicPolice, while in the course of investigating a violent home invasion, break into someone's home and violently assault them. Turns out it was the wrong guy... whoops. And he only struggled because he thought it was a home invasion... whoops.
This is a Big Lebowski level cock-up, but apparently this is Police doing their job, tough line of work blah blah blah? Police have apologised to the victim, but the union boss says it wasn't even necessary to do so. He says he hopes the police will enjoy "more support and less judgement" as they carry out dangerous work protecting the public from high-risk offenders. IBAC found that the police... did nothing wrong... well stone the crows.
If this had been an AFL player with a severely broken arm, what would we be saying about this?
