Clark hasn't played since round nine last year due to a calf injury.

Clark has a history littered with injuries, like forever. Every time he farts he gets injured.

Whereas Bennell has never had a calf injury before this year at all?

Its not uncommon for plyers to have recurring muscle tear injuries that keep them out of action for a year... however i have never in all of world sport heard of an athlete being ruled out for 9 months because of a calf tear.. Players break bones, have operations and return to play quicker than that.

Your are trying to compare injuries though....Every injury is different. All someone coming back after 4 weeks means, is that the injury was likely to be a lower grade.
Bennell has had calf issues since 2014. He missed games at Gold Coast. He re-injured it again at GC.
Fremantle consulted with the AIS in April about the best way to manage his calf issues. "We've gone to the best experts in Australia – the head of the AIS, Craig Purdam. Our guys are mapping out a strong plan and I'll have a meeting later today just to firm that up with Harley and our conditioners." In May, while doing rehab for the calf, he felt pain...A MRI showed that he had re-injured the calf. Not the muscle, but the medial aponeurosis. This is not a simple muscle strain or tear.
Fremantle then obtained advice about the best way to manage the injury and the best advice was slow rehab...
Its not rocket science. He has a history of calf injuries and a history of re-injuries. This would imply that the calf has a weakness and that he has previously been brought back in before he was significantly healed. The fact that Freo is prepared to slowly rehab him in order to get the best outcome for his calf is actually very sensible. Nothing sinister about it.

The point we're trying to make is that theres actually two other calf injuries running at the moment other than Bennell that have kept the respective player out for almost a year.

Bigger picture here isn't whether or not Freo are hiding something or not with Bennell. Fact of the matter is that they have burnt another draft pick. there drafting history is deplorable - and it now looks like they are chasing Travis Cloke.....

Where does the Cloke stuff come from?

I hope you are right and that it is not something that will have a long term effect on his career. Perhaps his calf issues were also a reason why other clubs were not that interested (aside from the tigers who were a bit desperate after missing out on Treloar) .

Funny how the rumor of a blow up pre season and serious trouble and now his inability to get get on the park with a calf injury.

Is there such a think as a closed court in Perth? Coke Bottles is sniffing around.

Not swallowing your take on this.

Jamie Elliott is almost out for the season due to injury, someone gonna start a thread on him? Would make sense too seeing as he has a seat on the Collingwood party bus
You can't just throw accusations like that around. Someone has to drive.

Like swaping Lachie Neale for Jarrad Boumann?
