Race 1 - Delectable Dolly - Editing this, i originally had down 3 selections and had it as a race to avoid. Nah screw that. Delectable Dolly sat last and wide, made up a little ground on the leaders in a 28.4 split. Must have reeled off a 27.9 split. Will need the leaders to not crawl in front, so she can sail over the top. Needs to be driven freezing cold! She works at all during the race, then forget it, shes another Good Catch. Led the 3 wide line and won, gulp!
Race 2 - Wobbly Archer sat 1-1, leader rocketed home in 28.0. Lost around 2m up the straight on him. So say he ran around 28.2. Horrible draw but i'm not betting on draws, i'm following times. If he finds room, he will kick there heads in. Fourth, perfect run, career worst run in this state.
Race 3 - Vicious Villain sat last spotting the leader 12m or so. Wide off the track beaten 4m in 29.0. Must have ran around a 28.3 final split. Next best would be Our Last banner who led and finished off in 29.4 after a good run. On these times it'd be a close call if Vicious Villain can get home in time if hes spotting OLB a bigger start then 12m. The ideal situation would be, Sunopal carts VV into the race. Must be restrained at the start and must not lead the 3 wide line up. Needs to be driven freezing cold. Second, sat in the death, sigh, hit the lead, was overun by something which improved lengths.
Race 4 - Look Away Dixie circled the field, led and just got bloused by Roma Tee on her back in a 29.1 final split. Leading and working is not her go. Go on her previous run, must have been spotting the leaders a good 16m sitting last. Pulled wide, right off the track 5 wide, zoomed home, just missed in a 29.4 closing split. Must have ran around 28.3 out wide! Why on earth they drove her upside down last start beats me. Won, trapped behind the leader, carted back a bit, got out, stormed home!
Race 5 - Ultimate Time - 3 starts back, sat back, pulled wide, got into the 1-1, kept closing beaten 2m, 29.2 closing sectional, fast mile rate to of 1.57.9. Next start led breaking 31 every quarter, walked home in 30.7, nailed late. Led again last start with better sectionals, home in 29.4. Go on the run 3 starts ago with a sit, how he should be driven, must of ran say a 28.8 split. From the pole, all he has to do it take the sit on Invinsible Barnes then nail his arse to the wall sprint laning. *this is not a good thing, nor is it really a bet. The times while slightly better then the rest still isn't enough advantage but hes driven correctly, absolutely correctly and they don't go suicidal in front then he should win* You have been warned, this race is more about barrier then times which isn't a good thing contrary to what most people think! second, led, grr, nailed right on the line.
Race 6 - The Apprentice sat last, spotting the winner a good 12-16m, beaten 12m in a 28.4 out wide. He was easily holding his ground, none of these duffers can break 29. Still, whoever leads this race gets completely left alone and just flies up the straight will make it hard for TA. Still on times, hes the one. Fouth, had a good cart up in the 3 wide line, battled away for fourth, dissapointing run.
Race 7 - Gracious Legend broke 2 minutes at Redcliffe leading. Need i say more? Iguanette who i'm not tipping! wasn't to bad last start, would of finished off in around 29.1 at his first start, you'd think he would improve and if he got got Gracious Legends Back it MIGHT be interesting. Second, led and got nailed by Iguanette who paid huge! I taking this as a win anyway, i don't care what anyone says! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know you cant make money betting on 1.20 shots, the obvious danger paid rediculous overs. If i was betting here, i would have unloaded on the winner, not upset though, it's all good!
Race 8 - Melton Assassin was in the same race as Iguanette, miles out of his ground. Beaten 16m but ran pretty much the same as Iguanette running final split in around 29.0.These are are some pretty awful horses going around here. Excluding Fearless Fake who i have no idea about MA should be hard to beat by default. Second, trailed up in the 3 wide line, hit the lead, got overun by the horse trailing him all the way, darn.
I'd like to point out, any horse who can't run faster then 28.3 is suspect, been warned! I wouldn not personally be on anything that can run at least that quick until i get better at this. Ultimate Time race is about his barrier and ever so slight time advantage, not ideal either!
Wobbly Archer has the best time tonight but will need lots of luck regardless from the draw.
Best American Horse l can remember out he in the last 15 years is Ultra Jet which ran second to Weona Warrior in the 94 Interdom. Struggling to think of any others. Level Advice I'm not sure whether he was bred here or not.
Ahhhh Level advice, the fastest horse out the gate you ever did see, Andrew Peace horse is i remember correctly....![]()
Did like Slug of Gin when it was racing. Had a very nice gait and great speed. Ultra Jet was about the toughest horse I have seen. Before it came out to Oz, it raced 70 (that's right 70) weeks in a row in the US.
Level Advice was a true speedster. Got some very nice prices on him in the Melb Interdom where he won 2 heats.
Another speed machine when he was fit was my all time favourite horse ever..................Sinbad Bay.
Keep up the great work DM and BB![]()
Looked at the replays, The Apprentice wasn't dissapointing, had to go 4 early, lost ground around the corner, hit the line hard in 4th. Melton Assassin got nailed right on the line. Unplaced got the best run you ever seen to nail Ultimate Time. They were the things i wanted to add to last night.
Gold Coast today
Race 1 - Torque Royal - Third the fence, broke in the last lap, lost 25m, must have been spotting the leader and winner a good 50m, charged home again beaten 18m in 31.8. Slow last quarter but still must have broke 30 on the way home. Would have won if he didnt gallop. Led 4 starts ago, in a 31.8 lead time, got it soft in front, home in 29.8 beaten 6m. That might look bad but the lead time was quick and hes improved since then and has 2 walkers underneath him and its over the mile today, 400m less. Led and won easily
Race 4 - Melton Gunna Win - Sat 1-2, beaten 14m in 29.1. Was a far stronger race, held his ground. Second horse won last night, third horse ran second in a strong mile rate on Tuesday and some others are in the next race for higher classed horses. Has run some very respectable races more then once when driven quietly against better quality opposition. Needs to be driven quietly or forget it. Sat in the death and won
Race 7 - Glorias Cove - Sat last, beaten 18m in 28.6. Held her ground in a far stronger race. Good smokey if she can get inside runs. Stuck 3 back the pegs, ran on strongly down straight beaten about 2m in a 5 way finish
Race 8 - Doon Yonder - Sat 1-1, hit the line hard beaten 4m in 28.4. Delectable Dolly and Darkwing come out of that race, one won and the other ran an extremely unlucky second sat night. Doon Yonder beat them both home. Fourth, didn't watch the race, just listened to it but seemed he got no luck, got stuck 4 back on the fence, was last i think on the corner, ran on strongly on a bog track. Thats racing but sucks when the best horse doesn't win especially considering you could get good odds.
Other interesting runners today although i'm not selecting them are. John Mcarthy runner, Pass the Parcel in race 7. Vangergrant if he can lead Race 6, Black Berbie and the NSW raider Smile at Carolina are also interesting in the same race. New Zealender first up Monviso in the 4th. Streets of Fire and Blacks Back in the second. Tricked Out in the first.
Do Penrith later on
4 selections
2 winners
1 fourth
1 fifth
Torque Royal paid 5.20
Melton Gunna Win paid 7.50
As for the other "interesting runners". Pass The Parcel, Smile At Carolina and Blacks Back won. Vandergrant ran second, Streets on Fire(got dragged back to last by tiring runner) ran third. Monviso grabbed fourth, Black Bernie(copped severe interference) fifth and Tricked Out unplaced.
Penrith - Not going into detail, to lazy tonight!
Race 1 - Advancealot
Race 3 - Hanover Zip
Race 4 - Artesian Babe
Race 7 - Emseven
Well done this arvo...good dividends...
hey dm sumone told me this arvo that they absolutly loaded up...and i mean loaded up...on depend on davey because of what u said on here...and it got done he was flipping spewin haha funny stuff
Well i'm not going to laugh if someone followed me in and lost money but how many times have i said in this thread to not put money on my selections. People should just ignore me!! Many times iv'e said i'm just learning and i'm the first to admit, i still suck, i know i suck, i say i suck, yet people put money on my selections??
Sad thing is, if i looked at that race properly, Mad Mel ran faster time at her previous start, thats what i find kinda funny! Laughing at myself because it was the logical selection but i just saw Depend On Davey and didnt bother about the rest of the field, lol.
Hanover Zip is an amazing animal. He and Hal Thomas are the most honest horses in the whole of Australia and probably the oldest! Love to see them both face off before they retire!
4 selectionsPenrith - Not going into detail, to lazy tonight!
Race 1 - Advancealot Led and won
Race 3 - Hanover Zip Led and won
