Ran up the back of High Five Mozza and galloped down the back but was atill able to recover and charge into 3rd. Would of got pretty close to winning if he didnt gallop

Was looking at the runs of Karloo Mick. Got to laugh, he goes down to Say Gday Lombo then rolls Vegas Bound, Rohan Home, Make Mine Cullen, heh. Horse racing never ceases to amuse me or maybe in this case, bemuse.

24/09/11. Karloo Mick runs 27.6 final split at Menangle. This; for the thousandth time, shows he doesn't have a devastating sprint. He is a tough stayer not a sprinter.

3/10/11. Barry Lew lets Say Gday Lombo run a 62.3 middle half. 31 3rd quarter for crying out loud. Of course Karloo Mick was going to get outsprinted. They ran home in 27.6 at Eugowra. Surprised Karloo Mick even kept up tbh.

22/10/11. Still only ran home in 27.9 (note to Danger Mouse; this shows he isn't fast) but it was more of a staying affair. 28 3rd quarter.

Karloo Mick is never going to run a fast 400m split which is what Barry Lew tried to make him do at Eugowra. Lew knows he isnt the best driver and hence gets Bennett to drive on most occasions.

Don't miss Newcastle mile tonight, red hot field and i'll go Karloo Mick just to spite GeeUUess As far as the he's a tough stayer not a sprinter comment. That's why he sailed around them 3 wide in the 2009 inter final failing narrowly. Sigh must learn to not respond.

Didn't really fire out what i like tonight per se and i'll leave it at that.

The runner tonight i'm most keen on (also came up with it) is Highstead. Liked his last run, outsprinted Standbesideme with ease. Hope they come for Heza Prince to give the horse decent odds.

A sprint is a short effort at max speed. You can run a mile in 28, 28, 28, 28 and although you didn't sprint hard for a quarter you've showed supreme staying ability and went 1.52. And yeah 2009 Inter...a 2600m race and the final quarter was 29.1 - so yes he was running home still in a 28 and change quarter for himself whilst the others were flat because he is a supreme stayer.
And I have a feeling tonights race will be run to suit for him; Georgetown will vie for the lead imo and I doubt Washakie will be very willing to give it to him.

It will all come down to the barrier draw i think. I dont like Im Themightyquinn over the mile. If Franco Jamar draws to lead they will be hard pressed to run him down

What's the concern with Smoken Up?

Im Themightyquinn drawn to get the 1 by 1 or maybe 1 by 2 which will give him every chance. If Garnet River got into the field it would cause a few problems early i think.

It will be interesting what they do on Terror to Love, they probably need to go forward to be a chance.

Lisagain is going to be a big place chance sitting on Smoken Up's back the whole way, not sure SU has the ability to kick away to give it a clear run in the straight though

What's the concern with Smoken Up?

Just a slight concern over whether SU has the gate speed to lead, and from gate one sometimes it's even harder to build up the momentum anyway.

It's the only concern IMO, if he can start well, and if he leads, he wins, or at absolute worse runs second to IMQ.

Pity for Franco Jamar, it obviously had a realistic chance of winning if it drew anywhere from 1-6, but drawing 8 (once the emergencies come out) makes it hard for him.

Oh ok, yeah i dont think he will have any problems leading. Mr Feelgood is the only horse with any chance (barring the emergencies dont get in) but SU would have to be off his game to be crossed.

Is there a market up some where?
