It's a lot closer for me and I'd really like to know what people think of the venue.

The venue itself is quite good, although the track itself has a country feel to it, with a small grand stand (seating wise) and a large grassed area that is the main viewing spot.

Facilities seem 1st class for the trainers, horses, drivers and owners though, as I saw first hand when I went into the "shed" to see the horses, there's a public walkway right through the middle of each area also.

The track is what it's all about though, and the larger, less tighter track has already shown that the move was worth it, just on the track layout alone IMO.

Overall it's a permanent home for Victorian Harness racing, something they've needed for so long, so it serves it's purpose, and will for a long time to come.

Yeah easy enough. Big days like Breeders Crown is a different story but for the majority of the time it's pretty easy. Don't go on a wet night though.

Menangle for mine.
Dependent on how the standard of racing gets up there (Melbourne has been stronger for a long time but the new prize-money starting next month will probably change that) I am thinking of moving there.
I don't really go for G.W.S I go for a Melbourne team and go to AFL games most weeks but I really am thinking of going to Sydney if I can get a job at HRNSW because Menangle has a great set up there and the track itself is the best in the land. Will just wait and see how strong it gets and wait for a vacancy up there. Glen Alpine golf course is just down the road and it would be a great lifestyle for me.
So basically as a track for racing and spectators Menangle beats Melton hands down.

Lance a suspected broken ankle & Ross Payne broken wrist look the worst.
Puppet was on the track for ever but has been cleared to drive tonight....amazing how tough these guys/girls are.

Despite all the negative stuff recently its a stark reminder of the dangers.

Unreal Seth that he was cleared drive,he drove the good filly and was nearly lifted out of the cart because of soreness. To bad for the punters who took him in quads ect.
