What do you see it being? I don’t think he’s any chance of breaking in as a mid now that he’s one more down the pecking order following Anderson’s recruitment. You then add Prindable who’s a similar size, style and possesses similar traits which tells me the club aren’t sure either.

Even if he does get a shot through the middle following a run of injuries I doubt we’d get more out of him than Macrae because he’s a small body with questionable skills at state league level (let alone the top level). From what I’ve seen he plays a straight line go ahead game so I thought that might be his avenue off HB, but that’s a hard road at Collingwood with our back half stacked at senior level with McInnes and Parker the next two in.
I think midfield. Will need to take his chance when it comes.

Yes but who played in JN’s HB spot?
That’s the reason people were saying Markov took JN’s spot.
Watch the late season game against Brissy in 2023. Noble got himself dropped and it wasn't about body size. Moore was out. Frampton was playing full back and not killing contests. Soft drops at the front of the square - goal after goal after goal from crumbers that Johnny hadn't covered off. Neither Frampton or Noble got a look into the finals defence.

Those examples are fair - but Markov with speed, 8cm taller and 8kg heavier was a far more versatile matchup option, and with far less chance of the broken tackles that plagued JN. Consensus has always been JN’s role was taken by Markov. I’m not re-writing history with this claim.

Consensus is regularly wrong. Markov had been in our defence playing as the 7th defender for a few months. We dropped Noble and added WHE into the defence. I think he was dropped because they didn't trust him defensively and we pulled a bloke from a different part of the ground to replace him in our defence.

It's all coming back to me.

I think my mind blocked it out because his disposal was too traumatic.

All the norf players got all excited, secret sauce leaked that Marley was told to pretend that the goal posts were oppo players and there was no way that even he could flush one of them lace out from 40m but he proved the doubters wrong.

I remember at the time Marley was traded that a poster commented something along the lines of: at least he's a chance now to kick it straight to a Collingwood player

Been in the system long enough to have a dominant year in the VFL and break on through for a game or more in the ones this season.

It feels like it's ten-to-five in the arvo at Flemington and you're trying to win tram fare home. It's all in on a 'roughy' in the last for Harry this season.

Ripping analogy!!

He's contracted for 2 more years so you've still got time to geld him
