Thought I'd make a thread regarding Harry O'Brien's (now Heritier Lumumba) autobiography, It's Cool To Be Conscious.

I'll probably pick it up tomorrow.

Here's a video of Heritier introducing his book

Had a quick look, you can get it at $15 at Angus and Robertson. I suggest everyone to get one, and we can have a good discussion of it!

Not sure I could stomach this book. Might give it a wide berth. I mean yeh we know Harry has had a hard time, don't we just hear it about it enough now this and he's not even finished his career. Good on him for getting a book out but I definitely won't be reading it or buying it, I'd rather just watch the man play footy and I'll support him no matter what once the siren goes but thats where it ends.

Could be brilliant or terrible

I might wait to see how other people react to it first, he certainly thinks on a very interesting level.

No thanks, Harry should be commended for using his position in the public eye to advocate for causes he's passionate about but every time I've heard him speak he sounds like a pseudo-intellectual, I doubt there's anything in the book of actual substance, his heart is in the right place but I think he desperately needed to build up some credibility before releasing a book.

What is this?! A reasonable post where you express a differing opinion, without resorting to childish attacks and attempts at trolling people? More of this, please.:thumbsu:
My guess would be if most of the posters decided they wanted to buy Harrys book you would have bitten my head off for going against the grain but it seems most people agree here haha :)

Not at all. If you were a dick about it, maybe, but you weren't.

I like this new THATSGOLD.:):thumbsu:

Look H is a top player, and good on him for having a crack at something outside his comfort zone.

I don't know Heritier personally so I'm not interested in the nuts and bolts of his life story.

If this book does someone good then it was worth him writing it.

Hopefully it starts a new religion where people worship Collingwood.

So you're not interested in any biography or autobiographies?
